Tycho being a vampire has nothing to do with WoW. His first line may even be a reference to a large portion of the readership who never gets these comics, since he has played enough WoW to understand what Gabe meant.
The rest of the comic is about how Blizzard has a tendency to make everything in WoW easier after a while. For years, mounts were attainable at level 40 and for 90 gold, which was probably all your gold at that point, if you even managed that much. Now it's half that level for a fraction of the price.
