Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
BORDERLANDS: It's a street walking cheetah with a heart full of napalm! [NSF56K]

Even in one of the previews I saw the dudes were like "my favorite gun is this one, they did a good job making it" making it seem like they didn't understand what he had was unique and may never be seen by anyone else ever.

Hey! Quit yer squabbling or i'll turn this thread around and no one will get to go to Borderland.
For me the gameplay of a shooter is way more engaging and "sports-like" than a click-clicky RPG so I don't think I would mind running a mission again because it's fun to shoot "mans with gunz".

Especially with 3 other people
Well there is probably some sort of mission sharing, or with a large overworld you'd just run to each guys mission and enjoy killing unique mans and collecting loots?

Imagine how fun it's going to be to have that experience 1000s of times and show off or share with friends. I'm being sincere! Very excited. Especially to see what the purples/oranges can do.

Here's a picture of the game's flow.
The inner loot whore in me just had a joygasm!
You don't take your own missions with you when you join someone's game. I'll give an example. I host a game and you join. You are now on the same missions I am. If I get a new side mission, we both have it, and we both get the rewards when we turn it in. If we do a story mission, we both get the rewards when it's over. Since you are not host, you only get credit for the story mission (for your own game) if you have that mission unlocked. So to make sure everyone gets credit, you will want the person who is furthest behind in the story to host.
As far as I know the game's story missions are very linear (no branching), but with random side quests. The game areas are a bit more free roaming, but you have to do certain missions to unlock new areas/new paths.
That game was awful. If they had a basic checkpoint system it may have been more enjoyable, but as it was I couldn't even finish the game.
In a later video he was using that gun. It is 13 shots per second. It's also a very accurate gun with a nice scope, he was using it to snipe enemies using short bursts. If the enemy got close he would unload. I imagine this gun would also work well with +reload speed skills, or in times where you want a lot of damage in a short amount of time (boss weakspots that are only open for 1 second). I think it would also be usefull when you have a second gun with a much larger clip. Use the first gun for 1 second, get a lot of damage out, then switch to the second gun to finish everything off... then reload both.
A shotgun with a scope doesn't seem as useful, but there are teleporting grenades (they go to where you aim, so a scope would help). There is always a possibility of super low spread shotguns too, you never know.
Or these:
Or slugs in a shotgun, not everything is a spread.
It could fire slugs or, in the case of this game, ferrets or something.
edit: ah beat me to it
"See what happened to jerry?"
"Yeah he was taking a piss when a high speed ferret blew his head off, fucking adventurers."
you could apply that same logic to our current metric for machine guns. . . we measure them in hundreds (sometimes even thousands) of rounds per minute, but magazine is only 30 bullets. . .
in fact, an mp5a series has a rate of fire of 800 rounds per minute, if we divide that by 60 to get seconds we come out with 13 shots per second.
Also, the beretta 93r has a rate of fire of 1100 per minute or 18 rps, and it has a 20 round box. . .
it looks like most machine pistols are in the same boat.

New thread is a go-go!
