I really enjoyed Murdere/Fugitive. There was really no reason for Bruce to be an asshole anymore after that story, but we all know how that turned out.

Selina killed Black Mask point blank, which was a great moment because it
    a) was Selina doing it so no Batman pussying out and
    b) it happened in her book, while he was a big Batman villain at the time. It gave that sense that something worthwhile can happen in a third tier book.

She'll probably show up and be mean to Steph once they run out of actual Bat-people to growl menacingly at her in the Batgirl book.

But seriously, no one knows what's going to happen with her except that "plans are afoot, in a very big way, for our favorite non-lethal assassin in 2010."

I'd like to see Cass show up in Gotham City Sirens as Catwoman's protege, Catgirl.

I think the two would actually play really well off each other, as they both share some traits that could be used to build an interesting relationship.

Alternatively, she carries Barbara around on her back like Luke and Yoda, and operating together as Master Batster.

Of course, if Joker got his hands on some universe-destroying power, would Bats still employ his One Rule? Food for Thought.

I think Final Crisis answered this question.

I know this is horribly late and I haven't read the whole thread yet to see if this is redundant, but Robin also answered this question. They don't kill not only because it goes against their moral code, but also because they cannot appear in court to defend their actions.

It is up to the judge and jury to decide if the criminals they apprehend live or die, and if they decide to let them live then that failing (if a failing it is) is on them, not B & R.

Not being able to defend their actions in court doesn't stop them from giving out righteous beatings, though.

And Batman did want to kill Joker when he became omnipotent, didn't he?

Wasn't that after dying a few hundred times though? Even Batman broke after that. The one thing I dont get with that is that people seem to interpret it as SUperman taking on those memories but I thought it was Joker who took them on, hes the one gibbering on the asylum floor.

It was Superman who took the memories, at least that's how I read it. That's why Batman was so upset at him in the Action Comics issue following the arc, because he didn't want Clark to take on the pain even though it was making Batman completely ineffective as a crimefighter.

Joker just went crazy(ier) as a result of losing Myz's powers

Emperor Joker was a really good story.

As for Misfit, she was left in the care of Huntress at the end of Birds of Prey. Huntress being the responsible upstanding school teacher, and all.

And why would Superman be able tohandle the pain of dying a thousand times better than Batman? Joker makes most sense and would explain his state at the end.

I don't have the Action Comics issue in front of me but it emphasized him taking the deaths because somehow Bruce found out and shot Superman with all the arsenal of his Bat-plane. It had Duncan Rouleau art! It might have even been the Action Comics Joker: Last Laugh tie-in issue.

I actually liked that part in the DC era, early 2000's, where Joker showed up a lot more in Metropolis and Luthor was becoming a villain for Bruce Wayne in businessman vs. businessman after No Man's Land.

Why did he shoot him with the full arsenal of the Bat-plane? Seems a bit of an overreaction. Though his reaction after his memory altering later would probably explain it.

Do you know at all what happened to Joker afterwards? Did he just reappear fine or what?

That was the whole point of shooting him. It was cathartic (it also happened after Superman apologized and tried to explain his actions, and was set up as a joke more than anything, like Superman says something like you can have a free punch).

If I have my timeline correct this was also around the time of Tower of Babel, which I think Superman threw back in Bruce's face.

Bruce doesn't like it much when people play with his mind. Sure, that time he just shot the full arsenal of the Batplane at Superman. The next time it happened he built Brother Eye.

Does anyone want to see what happens in time number 3?
