But you can never leave.
The Year's 1979. You play Kyle Hyde, a burnout detective on the search for an old, backstabbing, partner.
Your next stop is quite eery, Hotel Dusk. You can sense the traces of Bradley, but he's nowhere to be found.
"
With Hotel Dusk, it's definitely a noir-esque theme. But being that it's in '79, it's much more modern than that."
-Tim O'leary (localization writer)
In Hotel Dusk, you walk around in a 3D world.
A diary can be accesed to write notes with the stylus. If a person tells you to meet them at a specific place and time, write it down in the diary for a quick reminder.
Another big part of Hotel Dusk, is interacting with other characters.
The dialogue has been localized by Tim O'Leary and Alan Averill, so translation shouldn't be a problem.
Another thing that I'm sure all of you like, is the art style.
I'm not aware of who is doing the art, but it's pretttttyy nice.

I've been following it for months. I can't wait.
The game looks beautiful in motion, and I'd buy it for the art style alone. The fact that it's an adventure game that looks to be in the old point-and-click vein makes it even tastier.
I don't recognize the names. Should I? Are they from another project or something?
Hotel Dusk looks great though.

And that's not a bad thing.
There's a T on the box in the OP and nintendo.com has it listed as T also.
And this comes out late January right? I'll be all over it. Trace Memory was great, albeit really short.
something like this is what the DS was made for.
But yeah, he's most commonly known as The Fire Emblem Guy. He also did Twilight Princess' translation, if I remember correctly.
Huh, weird. That's just what the guys on the 1up podcast said.
not enough people named Kyle.
Not that I really care, just an observation.
I never finished Trace Memory. Which is kinda sad since it's apparently like a four-hour game.
Apparently without a degree they really had no confidence in paying me more, regardless of how well I can translate or write. :P
Wasn't enough to relocate to Redmond to, so I said fuck it and am getting my associate's, then trying again.
The ESRB website says its rated T as well. Looks interesting none the less.
Has any DS game even gotten an M yet?
And yes, this is very bought. The artwork looks killer.
Incidentally, the song goes "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."
