Tonight the streets are red, the lights are blue and blinding
No sign of the good doctor but the sirens wailing
Well I'll tell you what I found! [I don't think this is right]
I can almost hear the hounds
What kind of man builds a machine to kill a girl?
No he did not use his hands like a smart man, he used a tool
But just the same
Can you question who's to blame?
(What was her name?!)
Doesn't matter. Now listen!
The good Doctor Light has to pay!
When I say he was a monster
When I set fire to his name
It does not matter where you hear it from
Whether truth or lies
It gets there all the same
Whatever's on the table plays!
There is a flame that I've been fanning
There is a fire waiting to catch
There is a hell that has been building from the moment we first met
If there ever was a time
If there ever was a chance
To undo the things I've done
And wash these bloodstains from my hands
It has passed and been forgotten
These are the paths that we must take
'Cause you and I, Tom, we are men
And we can bend and we can break
But if you think that you can run
If you think that you can stand
Well you forget who turned this city on
You forget who plugged this city in!
Then I'd switch it off again!
One by one [something something]
I am glad I am not the only one having trouble hearing the end of the third line
Two things: misplaced comma, "he did not use his hands, like a smart man he used a tool." I think that's how it's phrased, because it seems like he's complimenting himself on being so smart in framing Light
And I think it's "they'll not switch it off again!" but I'm not sure. It seems like that line is conveying how strong his hold over the people is
Christ this is why I need the CD, I'm thinking way too much about this shit

Those sound about right
The comma error is from the original lyrics I found, with a bunch of easy errors that I'd think someone would catch
The opening is:
Tonight the streets are red, the lights are blue and blinding
No sign of the good doctor but the sirens wail and whine
And tell us what they found
The opening is:

No sign of the good doctor but the sirens wail and whine
And tell us what they found
I don't know how well that last line fits
I still think it's something else
But again, I don't know
It's definitely "wail and whine"
but yeah I'm not 100% sure about the last line either.

Well there's definitely tell and found. But it's not clear how much he got his hands dirty with framing light. His basic argument is well basically even though this turned out really well I could have half assed it and it woulda been the same.
Zoel on
A magician gives you a ring that, when worn, will let you see the world as it truly is.
However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.
I'm extremely happy with how I imagine the city growing from a frontier town into the 80s metropolis we all know and love

huh what about "what a terrorist they've found" or "have you found"

I actually get a stronger image of that happening in reverse during intermission.
Like I imagine seeing the city skyline and having all the skyscrapers slowly being pulled away as though they're pieces of setting, and then the clouds part and the sun rises over the smaller buildings that are left.
So whoever said Beards Going Nowhere fits as a fun little love ballad from Light to Emily was dead fucking on.
It really does work well. Good Doctor - Father of Death is one of the track breaks that doesn't have any musical overlap, so you can stick a song between without it jarring. And the little electronic noises at the end of Beards Going Nowhere are even a little like the tinkling sounds that start up Father of Death.
The opening is:
Tonight the streets are red, the lights are blue and blinding
No sign of the good doctor but the sirens wail and whine
And tell us what they found
I’ve seen your face in the shadows
And I’ve seen your face in the places I wasn’t meant to be
I’ve heard them whisper about you
I’ve heard the men in the bars and I’ve seen the women lock their doors at night
(Lock your doors tonight!)
They say your world is on fire [not sure about this]
They say you killed a man for walking the wrong side of the line
(Wrong side of the line!)
But men, they say a lot of foolish things
And in the end the only words I can find to believe in are mine
They say (this city)
This city (she’s been dead)
She’s been dead for years now (for years now)
For years now (for years now)
So death is (so death is)
Not something (not something)
Not something that scares me (that scares me)
That scares me (that scares me)
There’s worse things (there’s worse things)
Than death here (than death here)
They told me (Keep Quiet)
I will not be told where to stand;
I will not be told what to say, not by man or machine, not by you, not by anyone tonight
Gonna have to do better than fear
Gonna have to step out of the shadows and fight
And when they see your face again
They will know what it means to have fear dragged out into the light (Drag it out!)
This city (she’s been dead)
She’s been dead for years now (for years now)
For years now (for years now)
So death is (so death is)
Not something (not something)
Not something that scares me (that scares me)
That scares me (that scares me)

As I read this I imagined a stage production of Acts I and II and now I must see such a thing done
I wanna know what's going on at the end of Keep Quiet
You mean the running, breathing, and chain-link fence sound effects?
Theories on the Protomen forum include Joe evading a robot patrol or Light sneaking back into the city
My impression was that it was Joe, exhausted from whatever he's doing during the song, at the base of Wily's tower. then you hear the mechanical door open and Wily or robots or something step out to respond to him.

This has been my dream since the first time I heard Act I.

I can't not see a stage production whenever I listen to The Hounds. It'd be perfect. I've practically got the song choreographed.

They already messed with the order the robots were created in
Protoman was the very first, followed by what would become the robot masters, not so here.
So yeah it's probably sniper joe.

The left side is all old brick buildings and Ford Model T's and shit
The right side is all skyscrapers and future-cars and motorcycles
I just now noticed that
