also never read the "philosophy of time travel" book (it exists!) as the rules for time travel are so arbitrary it will upset you
Fact: I had never seen a pan-flute band until after I saw that episode
So when I came across one playing the Chariots of Fire theme, I cracked up
I didn't think that book was real - I thought it was just a generic-sounding time travel book title that they used in the film! Oops.
i mean what could they really do that wouldn't just be the same formula repeated
they can't really reveal the monster again, they killed the main characters and you know any new characters aren't worth getting attached to,
The only thing they could really go into is some sort of tom-clancy esque government response which, like blair witch project 2, is just a terrible idea. I mean, I don't really care about the origin of the monster, or it's implications on the human condition, or whether or not a monster can feel love.
it was actually fully created by the person who made the movie.
which is a very cool thing to do.
However, some parts come so far out of left field I think the film is best left to your own interpretation.
See, the origins of the monster is actually what draws me most to a sequel.

That is pretty cool to do, to go into that much depth for the film, but yeah - sounds like it'd confuse the way it's viewed though it's pretty left field as you say.
I can go both ways here.

The thing is that if that was answered you couldn't possibly be happy with the result. At the end of that path is always crap. That's why nothing ever gets answered on lost, or why we were better off not knowing that Jedi were people with special basketball genes that made them white guys who could jump, or why watching the final of BSG makes you wish they had never attempted any sort of connection to the real world.
