Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Is anyone still playing on the Wii?

What is this thread? (wii thread) Se actually has seemed to have stagnated a bit because we do have a bunch of all-purpose threads at the moment.
well yeah, none of you guys ever use her.
Oh no! Other people were enjoying a conversation! Look away!
I feel bad.
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
it's like showing a pollack painting to an ancient egyptian
they're likely not gonna give a shit
I didn't enjoy having to scroll past all of that. I just want to hear about what games people are playing the Wii. I'm not interested in the philosophy or semantics of vidya games. I'm interested in having fun.
I agree that the series appears somewhat stagnant at this point. However, when establishing whether something is a new gameplay mechanic or not, in terms of grind/fetch, it is important to consider only the actual game that is being played, not previous games.
The reason is what we call "player accessibility." If I start a game off and give the player a wide library of abilities based on the expectation that the player is intimately familiar with all (or at least many) pre-existing games in the same genre, I have made the game inaccessible to new players. That's bad design. Super Gun Biceps Warrior 3 should not expect me to have mastered twin-uzi shooting during the sideroll dodge, even if that was a major mechanic in SGBW2. It needs to reintroduce the move and give me time to learn it.
So while I agree with your literal point, I think that you're putting that point into an inappropriate context. When a game introduces a new idea, that idea is supposed to be explored within the game itself, and it's not a grind until you get to the point where you can say "the player should have, by now, mastered this shit, and we're still making him do it." It is not reasonable to reach that point by expecting that the player purchased a separate game that was published several years ago, as it is entirely possible that the player did not.
Congratulations on being willfully mindless.
because yeah
man, a person can enjoy entertainment without devoting a whole lot of brain power to it, and that doesn't make them a bad person.
but a person can also take a more in depth approach and discuss things with like-minded individuals without somebody going I DON'T WANT TO READ YOUR OPINIONS LET'S JUST TALK ABOUT WII GAEMS
He often does in every Wii thread but that's primarily because a lot of people reply to his posts.
League of Legends: Lamby Cakes | XBox Live: Jon Butters

Kuribo's Shoe and Larlar get it.
I went to go check, because the last I had heard, regular JSRF worked, but the disc with JSRF and Sega GT (which came bundled with my Xbox) didn't. And it works! And now I've got that Scapegoat Wax song stuck in my head.
I've only played the first two areas, but the only buggy parts seem to be custom graffiti (you can't see the top third or so of the area when making it) and slight slowdown in big crowds (which I can't remember if that was in the original or not).
