I'm not saying I didn't like Toy Story or Toy Story 2... all I'm saying is that I suspect they do for today's kids what Velveteen Rabbit did for me.

Namely, terrify them to the point of being physically unable to give up their toys because then Sarah McLachlan will sing about how awful you are and they'll be burned alive and heartbroken because you had to go and catch Scarlet Fever, didn't you, you little brat?

Oh man, Watership Down. That's also a great thing to show your kids when you're feeling vindictive as a parent. But while it was totally insane and definitely eye-poppingly scary to children, it did not scar me nearly as badly as Velveteen Rabbit. When I was really young I played with all of my toys equally, even the ones I thought were dumb, because if I didn't, I knew they would die.

Ghost, I find that it helps if you envision the little boy growing up to be Edward P. Dowd in Harvey, and Harvey as the ghost of the velveteen rabbit come back to drive him mad? But I'll understand if you can never forgive me.

If what I heard is true, the storyline for this is pretty upsetting.

all the toys are dumped in a day-care centre when andy moves to college

    the fuck are you, four?

    what? uh

it wasn't me that said it was upsetting, i think its cool

i'm just saying thats apparently the plot

    also
The Buzz Lightyear toys are recalled, for some reason.

Lead Paint. Also is it just me or did Jessee's voice sound weird in the trailer?
