I'm not saying I didn't like Toy Story or Toy Story 2... all I'm saying is that I suspect they do for today's kids what Velveteen Rabbit did for me.
Namely, terrify them to the point of being physically unable to give up their toys because then Sarah McLachlan will sing about how awful you are and they'll be burned alive and heartbroken because you had to go and catch Scarlet Fever, didn't you, you little brat?

Oh man, Watership Down. That's also a great thing to show your kids when you're feeling vindictive as a parent. But while it was totally insane and definitely eye-poppingly scary to children, it did not scar me nearly as badly as Velveteen Rabbit. When I was really young I played with all of my toys equally, even the ones I thought were dumb, because if I didn't, I knew they would die.
Ghost, I find that it helps if you envision the little boy growing up to be Edward P. Dowd in Harvey, and Harvey as the ghost of the velveteen rabbit come back to drive him mad? But I'll understand if you can never forgive me.

I was wondering why you fuckers were talking about Liam Neeson, like I forgot he was in Saving Private Ryan before I realised Zimfan altered the quote further.

they ought to at least reference it. Heck, I'd be fine with seeing Warp or Nos-4-A2.
That won't work!
They'll want to go to france just to get rescued by Liam Neeson!

Time to chill with Qui-Gon
This is a fantastic reference.
Lead Paint. Also is it just me or did Jessee's voice sound weird in the trailer?
Well, it has been 10 years.
Holy shit, it's been 10 years.
You should never be skeptical of a Pixar movie
A man who quotes Carlin in such a situation is a friend of mine.
how does that work
I am failing to comprehend this on a fundamental level
