It says in the podcast that they are trying to get badges from these misc. monsters, wouldn't it be cool if the monsters themselves released badges to the slayer? Sort of like a Zelda (Twilight Princess is how I see it) boss except a badge instead of a heart container or (even better fused shadow)....
...
...or not. I read a lot of manga. I blame the manga...
Though it would be cool with the badge and the monster crispifying before exploding...
Also, motto does make sense, they have given their lives to the forest so they wish to spend all of their lives in their up 'till the point where they die.

Don't be too eager to become "that guy that does that thing". People will start asking you to sing a poem about a drawing of them having their name changed to something funny.
I do like the idea of robot prohibition, but I really want to know what happens to the lookouts.
This.
My first post here, just to express how in love I am with the Lookouts. Automata may be slick and I do want to know more about the language Tycho made up. Someday. It's waited all these years, it can wait some more.
But if we never get to see how the Lookouts do I won't rest easy in my grave.
I have seen things similar to the other concepts that have so-far been revealed, but my experience is currently lacking in stories about children camping out in the woods to learn about wyverns and collect mandragora root and the like.
I never got into Harry Potter, but the raw concept it has in common with Lookouts is something I really like the idea of.
Therefore I am currently rooting for Lookouts and secretly hoping the other stories arrive eventually at later dates.

Man, you have lurked quite some time to post that, friend.
I have very similar feelings. I just want to see what more can come out of a forest world with wee adventurers like the Lookouts.
Automata looks good but I don't know how much longevity is in a story/series like that.
And as much as I like the Jim Darkmagic character, I can't help but worry that a story about him would turn out too similar to something akin to R. A. Salvatore's Harpell clan.
Staxeon on
Invisible nap is the best nap of all time!

I will totally sing this tomorrow (if Butler doesn't mind)
... how do you think Eyrewood is pronounced?
Wait, they said it in the podcast, I'll just go listen to that again.
Also it is totally awesome that I am the singing guy now.
Oh my God
so awesome
I had the rhythm of an Irish reel in mind when I was writing it, the chorus has the same rhythm as that from "Finnegan's Wake", while the verses are a bit like Gilbert and Sullivan's "A British Tar". But you do whatever makes it work, I don't know shit about writing music.

Working on more verses right now.
I think I know where you are coming from, I'll record a couple of versions then listen to those references and see how close I was :P

We have to chose just one? I am almost certain that as each one airs it will be my new favorite, and also that I won't be the ony one.

That would not be very cool, no.
No sir, I don't like it.

A ten year old boy in a boyscout like organization where you have to slay monsters for merit badges,
I can think of nothing else about mechanics or story or anything but now I want that game badly.
Maybe make it a sequel to Psychonauts or something.

Gabe could do a great job of that, no dialog at all

Gin and tonic.
Ice and a slice.
I'm guessing it's how the word 'ire' is pronounced. Because the very wood is filled with anger. And monsters.
edit Or maybe it's eerie wood. I don't know.
gonna be pretty hard to beat really
Come and get on board with this.
