gray just looks gray really, automata doesn't have much warmth

But you can at least tell that some shades of grey are darker and lighter, can't you?

Also, how do you go most of your life not knowing you are colorblind? Didn't you ever get the feeling that something is wrong just from how other people described things to you (since you obviously perceive things differently).

yes there are different shades of gray

also no, not really. want to explain the last part more?

Well I was talking more to Tofystedeth but okay. I mean like if someone else said, "Hand me that green thing" and you hand them the red one and they were all, "No, the green thing moron". You would eventually think "hey, maybe something isn't quite right". Or not, I don't know how that works since I can't even imagine how that must be.

Well, for me, the main effect is that all colors tend to look duller than they do to other people (judging from their descriptions to me)

At a distance, certain shades of green and red become hard to distinguish and tend to just fade into brown; certain shades I even have to get right up next to before I can tell which is which

This also extends to blue and purple, green and grey, sometimes even green and blue in certain shades and lighting conditions

It isn't as simple as "red things look green and vice-versa" but rather is a general lack of vibrancy and contrast

Also, I like that Automata is winning, simply because as has been said previously in this thread, I think it has the most potential.

    Back on topic, kids:

A Jim Darkmagic / Lookouts crossover could work, where the kids have a 'celebrity' teacher help them out, but he's actually incompetent.

Actually wait, I think that's the plot of one of the Harry Potter books... but anyway, hijinks would ensue as several of the kids were killed horribly.

Well, I have as far as I can tell a fairly mild colorblindness. For a long time I thought I just had weird color judgment or different definitions for colors as everyone else. The areas where things like dark blue became purple, or yellow orange becomes orange becomes red orange etc, I always had a different opinion of what the main color was.

It wasn't until my previous job where I was required to separate red particulate matter from the other kinds that I found out. For the test I did fine, as the pieces of red PM were large, but under actual work conditions, between the smallness of the flecks and the lights we worked under, they all appeared grey to me. They sent me to the company nurse and she ran some tests and I failed a few.

It's still kind of weird, I've checked a few tests online and can't find a specific category I fall into. From the Wikipedia page, I fail the test for deuteronopia, but on some other sites, I fail one or two, but pass some others. I can't figure it out. It was mild enough that I didn't notice for 22 years, so I guess I'm not crippled, but every once in a while I wonder what I'm missing.

On topic. Automata still looks pretty anyway. I voted for Lookouts though. I will be thrilled either way. Robots are awesome too.

got this on my phone, twitter is so cool

also maybe it's just me but i think people that voted darkmagic are more likely to vote lookouts

I think so too. They are pretty similar in setting, just not in tone.

I wonder why they are having a run-off, anyway? Automata had a pretty clear lead at the last update.

7.6% isn't a very large lead. Since there are still lots of votes for Jim Darkmagic, those people who voted for the one that's losing by a large margin will get another chance. It's more fair?

Because they know that Jim is stealing the fantasy votes away from Lookouts and they secretly want to do Lookouts more.

See when I first heard it idea of Robot Noir, I was all, fuck yes.

But the single page really didn't grab me as strongly as Lookouts did.

Lookouts as far as I am concerned is an OK concept which is brilliantly executed.

Automata on the other hand was my favourite concept but just didn't seem all the strong to me.
