Throughout history many different people have worshiped many different gods. Most of these people have depicted their gods in some way or other.

The premise of this challenge is simple: pick a god or gods from one pantheon then pick some others from other pantheons and combine them to make hilarious or cool new gods!

From Christianity, my savior and yours: Jesus Christ

2gxfd74.jpg

There's like millions of Hindu gods, or one, Hindus can never agree on this. So here's Vishnu and Kali:

2iid43o.jpg2m4tveb.jpg

Greco-Roman Pantheon
Again, too damn many, so the head honcho and then my favorite: Zeus and Athena

wkml2c.jpgxe4lra.jpg

The Ancient Egyptian pantheon has cool gods
Like these motherfuckers right here: Anubis and Horus

Norse gods:
Odin and Thor

~ BI-WEEKLY CHALLENGE THREAD ~

For those of you who frequent the conceptart.org forums this should be pretty familiar; tens of artistic combatants thrown together in to an artistic arena, each struggling for the honor of being dubbed a master of the visual arts. Those of you who succeed will be bathed in glory and the blood of their competitors, those of you who fail will be exiled to a life of shame and isolation.

The aim of this thread is to try and spice things up a bit here in the ol' Artist's Corner. This thread is for entries in to the challenge or the discussion thereof. If you'd like to suggest a topic for the weekly challenge, go right ahead, but understand that the last winner of the challenge has total control over the task (unless they have won more than two challenges in a row, see rules).

The rules are simple;

RULES:

* One entry per person, per challenge.
* A contestant cannot win more than two challenges in a row.
* Winner gets the privilege of choosing the next challenge.
* At the end of a challenge, the thread is locked and a new one is begun.
* Stick to the challenge topic; no going off on a tangent.
* All formats welcome, whether they be traditional or digital; 2D or 3D; still or animated.

If you're looking for inspiration, check out the aforementioned conceptart.org forums (specifically the creature/environment/character of the week sections).

I can't help but read the Jesus one like an old school boxing announcer:

"From Christianity, weighing in at one hundred thirty-three pounds, my savior and yours, Jeeeeessssuuuuussss Aiiitttchh Chriiiiiiiiisssst!"

cue fireworks, laserlights, doves, and David Banner's Crank It Up.

This is the best idea. If I come up with a decent concept I might even enter this one.

EDIT: How far can we push this? Could we use a demi-god like Herakles? A related mythological being like Fenrir? L. Ron Hubbard?

Do you really want to try to draw a line between "fake gods" and "real gods"? If you manage to put L. Ron Hubbard into your submission, I will vote for you.

I was thinking of drawing a comic strip of the Apostle Peter opening jesus' tomb on the third day after his death and looking inside to find shoggoth christ and then closing it up and telling everyone that it's miraculously empty. Then, of course, going insane.

But then I remembered that I don't draw.

I disagree, I would extend it slightly. I see what you mean bout making his forearms thick, but I would still lengthen the arm a bit. Just like raise the whole hand a little and then fill in some wrist, because like mustang said his other one is slightly more slender.
P.S. I might have accidently reported your post manon while I was trying to quote it so if an admin crawls up your ass you can blame me lol.
