I'm sorry I don't get frozen in place when ambiguous dialogue pops up. A lot of the Malkavian responses are Shakespearean or the result of your madness network senses tingling.

malk ain't that hard to understand

shank, ventrue's strength is in their social abilities and their weakness is in the physical side of things. at least, fluff-wise. there's no noob class, everyone has their strengths and weaknesses.

nosferatu is probably the hardest one to play though, what with the whole "you violate masquerade on sight" thing

I've never played Nosferatu. How does that even work? It seems you'd miss out on half the quests if you aren't allowed to talk to mortals.

I love blood boil. The ingame description says that it makes people explode. It misses out the part "...with the force of a nuclear bomb."

The Ventrue's weakness isn't the physical side of things at all, they're practically unkillable. Their weakness is that if they're stuck somewhere where they can't get to their prey of choice, be it redheads, school children, convicts or in the case of Jan Pieterzoon
    Spoiler:
    , they are fucked.

Yes, being well-suited to a certain play style means that anybody who doesn't share your predilections is, inherently, an idiot.

I mostly meant in regards to their skills - they seem pretty geared to become good at ranged stuff or melee stuff or magic stuff, but not as good as other clans at each

Yeah, but aren't the jack-of-all-trades classes usually easy mode, or at least less difficult than the classes with more specific strengths and weaknesses?

Also, quite aside from the fact that you're being a massive prick about it, some of the Malkavian dialogues are deliberately designed to be completely nonsensical if you haven't already played the game so if you claim that you understood exactly every word of dialogue for what it really was you are a tool.

There aren't any jack of all trades classes. Every class can get good at everything. The big difference is disciplines, which are mostly combat orientated.

Never said I understood everything. Yes some of them are gobbledegook. Sorry if I came off as a prick, but it just seemed like a lot of the choices and necessary dialogue weren't...impossible.

So back to the good stuff. If you really feel like immersing yourself in your character, play Malkavian first. You won't know what the fuck is going on, just like a newly embraced Malkavian in the setting!

i'm playing a malk at the moment, i don't find it that hard to figure out what they mean, usually it's something fairly obvious like "i'll drippy droppy lead on the dark one's little bitty head" instead of "yeah i'll kill the dude". there are some parts that are just straight up incomprehensible though and it's hurt me once or twice.

i've played the game already though so i don't know how hard it would be to play one right out of the gate, although it has been years since i've touched it last.
