My dad didn't wake up this morning.. I'm sure you'll all hear about it. It hasn't yet hit me but it's about to.

“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping. It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head,” said Mays.

Uhhhhh, wow wtf is with this past two weeks.

Monday update: It appears the culprit in the death of Mays was a heart disease.

Man, I was starting to like Pitchmen. It gave a pretty good behind-the-scenes look at Billy Mays that made him seem human behind all that screaming.

Count again, we're at 5. David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays. Apparently Walter Cronkite is seriously ill too, so he'll probably be #6.

I'm thinking there was an epic battle between Mays and Vince (Shamwow guy), and Mays let Vince win so he could become one with the force, becoming more powerful than he could ever imagine.

The question now is, does Anthony Sullivan have any ill feelings towards Vince? Because short-term he's likely to be frantically filling in for Billy on every product Billy has out there if for no other reason than to reduce the creepy ZOMBIE BILLY MAYS HERE FOR BRAINS factor. Long-term, he's more geared to the business end of things than the pitch end, so he is going to need a second pitchman, and I could see him sucking it up and calling Vince.

From watching Pitchmen, Billy hated Vince because he thought Vince was a clown ripping off one of Billy's products. Sullivan, had no real issues with the guy and would tease Billy about the Shamwow.

That said, the likeliness of Sullivan calling Vince is slim to none. From the show, they seem to know a lot of people in the industry, including people that want to be pitchmen.

I wonder if Discovery will do what MTV did when MJ died last Thursday, and have an all-day Pitchmen marathon or something like that. Probably not, but it'd be a nice sendoff.

In any case, RIP Billy Mays. I hope they have Big City Sliders in heaven.

Those commercials Mays did for ESPN's online stuff were pretty fantastic. I'm actually sad to hear about this, but maybe Jr. will step into his dad's shoes and take over the family business. Apparently Mays' father was also a pitchman, so it's in their blood.

RIP man, you had the sack to do some self-parody and I'll always respect people that can do that.

My wife and I were watching it this morning! This is crazy. Perhaps surprisingly, this is the celebrity death over the past few days that hits the hardest, even more than Michael Jackson. Billy Mays seemed like a genuinely good guy, an everyman who had made it big and still seemed like a "regular guy" despite the Bentley. He was a great personality and I'm going to miss watching his antics.
