    I'm a huge hypnosis buff. I actually convinced a friend to let me put her under once. I put in a suggestion that whenever someone says her name she'll scratch her nose. We then went out with a few other friends, and she continued to do it for the rest of the night. Really got a kick out of that one.

    Did you learn by book or what

    mostly books, a few online videos.

    you are a bad person.

    yes, I know.

    man I just want to know, and this isnt intented to be an offensive question or anything but,

    why do you think you have the right to play with other people's minds? If ANYTHING is sacred in this world, it is free will.

    Crying Baby Monkeys Get on Everyone's Nerves
    When baby rhesus monkeys want to suckle, they do what human infants do: cry, cry, cry. Mothers often give in, naturally. When they don't, the babies' cries get on everyone's nerves - sometimes with nasty consequences.

    In rhesus society, dominant individuals aren't shy about showing anger by chasing, pushing, hitting, or biting a mother and her youngster that aren't family. Stuart Semple, an anthropologist at Roehampton University in London, and two colleagues recently observed such hostile behavior in wild rhesus monkeys in Puerto Rico.

    The team calculated that bystanders are about 35 times more likely to attack both mother and infant when the baby is crying than when it's hushed.

    haha at first I only read the bolded part and I thought you meant like, bystanders at a zoo
    attacking a monkey 35 times when he's crying

    seriously. I'll be out on the street, and all I can think about is whether some hypnotist is gonna walk up to me, and steal all my shit without me even noticing, and fuck my mind over there and then.

    I know this wouldnt happen, but I cant not be scared.
    I dunno, maybe I was abused by one as a child.

    Here's an actual medical facility that does it
    What are the benefits of hypnotherapy?

    The hypnotic state allows a person to be more open to discussion and suggestion.

    It can improve the success of other treatments for many conditions, including:

    * Phobias, fears, and anxiety
    * Sleep disorders
    * Depression
    * Stress
    * Post-trauma anxiety
    * Grief and loss

    It also might be used to help with pain control and to overcome habits, such as smoking or overeating. It also might be helpful for people whose symptoms are severe or who need crisis management.

    look, guy, what hypnosis basically is is a state of enhanced suggestibility. The hypnotist makes suggestions, and the subject may choose to follow them. Even if these suggestions are phrased as orders, that doesn't change the fact that whomever's under can just stop listening to them at any time. It's a bit like that cliche about S&M sex (as unsavory as the comparison is): the submissive one's actually in control. At any moment he can get up and walk away.
