oh my god oh my god oh my god dmac
you are the coolest motherfucker
orikae: I use dental tools, usually, that I got from my local dentist - just went in one day and was all "You guys got any of those metal tools you use laying around that you can't use any more? I need some for sculpting. For... a school project, yeah that's the ticket" and they were all "Oh let me see" and came back out with a handful of them in all different shapes, and just gave em to me for free. Once they get a little dinged or rusty they can't use them for medical purposes, so they usually throw them away, but most of the time they collect a bunch of them in the back room and toss em all at once.
The trick to greenstuff is water. Water water water. Keep your tools wet and you can get insane levels of detail.

with greenstuff, regardless of what that tutorial says, hair is by far the easiest thing to sculpt.
This is a model without any greenstuff.
this is one where I added more hair, a goatee and a little sash thing before I painted it.
this is one of those space marine dudes with no hair or nothing after I greenstuffed the shit out of his hair and beard. He looks like way more of a badass now.
it ain't too tough to do, just be careful and patient with it, and experiment a lot. The tutorials out there really help, like the one pip linked.

prime with spray primer
get the bullshit model paints
they're fucking worth every goddamned penny
GW's foundation line are incredible
and I use my model paints all the fucking time for "real" painting, they're super thin and perfect for fine detail work on large paintings. I especially use white a lot in my drawing work, as it's tough to find a good opaque white gouache or acrylic you can use for spot highlights on illustration work.
I can't wait til I have time to convert some planescape stuff to 4e. I'm planning on that being the 'epic tier' of the campaign I just started.

I gotta say, I'm pretty pleased there's going to be another PA 'Acquisitions, Inc.' D&D podcast.
Also need to download a few shows of the Open Design podcast Rank posted a few pages back. I've been looking around for a decent D&D podcast for a while, and that one seems pretty promising.

I've listened to both Open Design things, and they're both pretty awesome. Lots of interesting stuff.
I had some issue with varying sound quality in the first one, but I understand that's kind of inevitable when interviewing with people who aren't there with you.
Would anyone be interested in running another game? Like, in Maptools maybe? I know Marsh's is really full and I wouldn't follow through if I tried to DM.

Twitch (I stream most days of the week)
Twitter (mean leftist discourse)
Any fun?
Also their existence will probably discourage Dustin and Natasha from changing characters again
Secret Satan

DMing is fun but sometimes you wanna smite some demons instead of play them.
I just really want to play, not lead.
