the thuggest gangsta rap

I'm on a ridiculous thug-ass gangsta rap binge, but I am so unfamiliar with rap that I can't go very far. What is some of the most low-brow, stupid, and absurd rap around? I don't care when it is from - the worse it is, the better. Assume I am familiar with nothing beyond N.W.A.

If you want serious old school G Funk then grab the first Snoop Dog album and grab Dre's The Chronic.

If you just want to look like a fool, then grab anything by Three 6 Mafia and the Insane Clown Posse.

Easy - "Violent By Design" by Jedi Mind Tricks. Older Mobb Deep too, specifically "Amerikaz Nightmare."

    Will update with samples shortly.

Wasn't 2 Live Crew more about being raunchy than being "gangsta"?

If you want that kind of rap, you should really look into the stuff from the early 90s when the whole east coast/west coast rivalry was going on.

    WU TANG

    WU TANG

You have to get your hands on 36 Chambers, Wu-Tang Forever, Raekwon's Only Built for Cuban Linx... (the sequel to this album is coming out this September), GZA's Liquid Swords.

    Cash still rules

    Bring Da Ruckus

    Wu-tang forever.

    Edit:

Check out Just-Ice, Gangstarr, Notorious B.I.G. (ready to Die is a staple). You're into NWA, you owe it to yourself to get Eazy-Duz-it by Eazy E, and AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted by Ice Cube. M.O.B. is great too. Early Eminem is pretty accessible too.

Anything by Mac Dre. By far my favorite Bay Area rapper.

Search for anything involving "hyphy" or "thizz" and you are sure to find some ridiculous shit. Some of it can be quite satisfying to those gangsterinius glands in the brain, yadiddiiiiiiimeannnnn dawg?

I'd recommend you check out some of the older 36 Mafia stuff, with such enjoyable tracks as "Weak Azz Bitch", "Who Run It", "M.E.M.P.H.I.S.", "I'm So High", and of course the more family friendly "Sippin On Some Sizzurp" and "Ridin' Spinnaz". Most of the songs are about running trains on girls and drinking lots of cough syrup straight from the bottle.

Then softly cry yourself to sleep when you realize that these guys are Academy Award winners.

Brotha Lynch Hung fits the criteria. I would post some stuff off of youtube but I'd probably get banned.

    I gotta second Geto Boys.

    Especially G-code.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_90td-vf0o

You guys gotta stop suggesting NWA and Public Enemy. He asked for the most low-brow stupid and absurd rap. Not awesome rap. Plus they have messages in many songs. Which totally disqualifies them.

Also, a second for 36 mafia.

Growing up in Atlanta, I've been exposed to a lot of hip-hop. I've even met DJ Toomp, T.I.'s producer (24's, Be Easy, What You Know, Dope Boyz, etc.) Scarface/Geto Boys are great. Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Snoop Dogg, etc. are all great too, although I'm not a huge fan of Snoop - I do like West Coast stuff, mostly The Game.

But these guys probably won't get a mention since they're not as mainstream..their content isn't exactly radio friendly. Tell me if you like them.

    I'm A Soldier - Young Buck
Does it get thugger than "I'm a soldier / I done told ya / Don't MAKE ME fuck you up!" And the verses!! The rhymes are great. Just give it a listen!!!!!!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckczVgaZdY8

Peace Up, A-Town Down (live performance) - T.I. & Young Jeezy (I lied, this is relatively mainstream)
"Catch me bouncin through the club with my Crip flag / If you don't like it do something, ... / where I'm from if we don't like it we DO something ..."
