Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
so, the other day i was in friendly's enjoying ice cream with a friend. suddenly, people burst from the back of the store, yelling. apparently, a man had waited in the bathroom, and then grabbed the cash off 4 unattended tables. he ran to his car and peeled out. he got away with like $180 total, and no one was hurt.
at first, i thought it ironic. "he robbed a place called friendly's. that's like trying to set disneyworld on fire!"
after the initial humor wore off, me and my friend walked outside. later that night, my friend got a phone call.
his grandmother had been murdered by a person trying to burgle her house.
now, these two events have nothing to do with one another, but they both show around when i slowly became disappointed and even disgusted with my fellow man. i always knew that there were bad men, and that they did bad things, but these two events made me start listening to every sob-story and news snippet there was. i now see the 'overwhelming blackness of life'. and boy duz that suck.
now i can't stop checking the news sites everytime i touch a computer, looking for the proof of man's corrupt poisons, seeping into the cracks of humanity. OH HOW IT SEEPS
so how do you cope with a world full of cocks? grin and bear it? activism? donate to a worthy cause? think about other shit?
i'd really like to know.
hypothetical: you leave your keys in the door to your home. someone discovers this along their way and notes they have free entry into your home. how comfortable are you that they will do the 'right thing?' regardless of your presence in the home?
