CREATIVE INPUT REQUESTED: I just cooked up a new button style that looks pretty darn good if I do say so. But I am drawing a blank on how to style the actual text on the button.

So, given a button that is mostly shades of green with a kind of "gel" look to it, what would you do for the text? Just plain black bold arial (the old standby) works but looks kind of plain. I was thinking of doing a bitmap effect. Maybe a light coloured font with a dark embossing effect or something.

    What's the button go to?

How much cost savings can there be with varying brands of spaghetti? Two cents? Three? Four?

    Ever cents counts.

If you go to the 'organic' section of King Soopers, Albertsons , whatever grocery store you have near you I'm sure it will be quite a bit more and by that I mean $1 or so.

"Oh no I'm eighteen years old and attracted to someone other than the person I'll probably stop dating with the next 2 years anyway! HELP ME HELP ME!"

I'm confused. What is weird about an 18 year old flipping out about possibly being gay or bi?

He's 18 any long term relationship he's in right now is not really any of those things.

And he's not really flipping out about being bi, but he's flipping out because it could destroy his relationship, but since he's 18 now he won't marry the girl so then it doesn't matter if the relationship goes to hell.

    Jerks.

On a green button I'd put white text.

    A delicious, delicious trap.

It's a button used in many places throughout a desktop application (WPF, so there is a fair bit of eye candy)

What you think "makes sense" has nothing to do with reality. It just has to do with your life experience. And your life experience may only be a small smidgen of reality. Possibly even a distorted account of reality at that. So what this means is that, beginning in the 20th century as our means of decoding nature became more and more powerful, we started realizing our common sense is no longer a tool to pass judgment on whether or not a scientific theory is correct. - Neil Degrasse Tyson

Haha what the hell? It's just not worth flipping out over. He's 18. He's bound to want to explore. The fact that he's showing interest in a man, supposedly for the first time, is a pretty clear indicator of that.

Organic food as it currently stands and the organic label as it has been co-opted and defined by the US government is indeed bullshit, but that doesn't change the fact that there are things severely wrong with how our current food system is built.

The name annoys me because yes, most food consists of organic compounds. Also, the notion that something is better because it's "natural" is retarded.

It's also retarded to assume that we understand the way the human body and the environment function enough to fuck with things as fundamental as what we eat as much as we have.

To say something is good solely because it is natural is of course wrong, but humans have evolved over thousands of years to eat certain things, and we've made incredibly radical changes in what we've eaten in the last hundred.

also "free range" or "cage free"

    *shrug*

if you really care about what you eat, find out where you food comes from and buy local

I wish I had the budget for that.

Yeah, the free range and cage free terms as defined are such bullshit. And finding out where your food comes from and buying local in some areas is relatively easy, but, if you live in the middle of a city it can be a lot harder.

Yes, I will enjoy eating food that is cheaper and more effectively produced than organic foods that aren't any better for you, they're just harder to grow.
