According to wikipedia I think the sort of fatalism I vaguely subscribe to is the closest to determinism

Mostly it is just a matter of worrying about things in the present, not things in the past or the future, because what will happen will happen, and that's just how it goes. I don't take it to some ridiculous hedonistic extreme, but that's just kinda how I operate.

    I am kinda solipsistic

I believe people in first-world countries are real and people in third-world countries are "fake" insofar as they were created for the sole purpose of letting people in first-world countries enjoy their life more by contrast

I constantly flirt with solipsism, I can't really get that far into that mindset but I love the idea on some conceptual levels

I also believe that there is no "heaven" or "hell" - for the people posting on this thread, they are in heaven, for they have free will, agency, and "people" in third-world countries to make them realize how lucky they are by contrast

the reason I put "people" in quotes is because I don't believe they have souls and that they were created by God as props to make us appreciate our lives more

    just to review

The only way to be a solipsist is to arrive on the idea of solipsism by one's self, which would mean that you're not really a solipsist because you don't know what solipsism is.

I guess other people could call you that, but that's like calling an ancient Greek guy a fag.

well i mean this thread is, hypothetically, for discussion of determinism

if one wants to actually participate they must either already have some basic knowledge or acquire it so i linked the easiest way to get an overview of the subject

right now, with a paper thin understanding of the subject

i think that the physical universe is wildly unpredictable due to quantum mechanics and materialistic determinism is completely impossible

this does not necessarily mean free will does or does not exist, just that chance exists and events are not predestined

    this is what i think!
