What the fuck is wrong with Fox and the political right?
    How long you got?

Why don't you just start a separate FOX News trashing thread?

You don't become immune to criticism just because you kicked off.

Yes, you do. You can't speak ill of the recently deceased. It's in the rulebook.

I think there is a deeper meaning to the notion that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead. If you thought they were a negative influence on the world, then you should mourn that they died before you or someone else could change their ways. Dancing on their grave implies that the solutions to disagreement are death, not persuasion and progress. That kind of attitude frightens people. To its logical conclusion, you should just be shooting dead anyone you disagree with, because you'd be doing the world a favor.

Rather, a little humility about how certain you are of your own righteousness, and some optimism about the solutions to life's problems, are in order.

But yeah unfortunately I think his legacy will always be tainted by his calling all his buddies in D.C. all night but not calling 911 until the next morning. Because he was "in shock."

Problem there is, a lot of the time people refuse to allow their ways to be changed. Sometimes it's just who they are and they're cool with that. 'Before we could change their ways' implies that it's possible to do so in the first place. And once you've set your ways long enough, odds are there isn't going to be anything resembling a deathbed repentance. It does happen- Lee Atwater, for example- but not overly often.

And also, 'that they died before they could change their ways' implies a presence of wasted potential on THEIR part. If we don't allow the opportunity for redemption, that's one thing, but if we give a guy the tools to redeem themselves, and they choose not to use those tools, whose fault is that, ours or theirs?

Well, not forever and ever. Hell no. But I think for a short period of time, which I guess is subject to debate that would have no definite answer, it's better form to say nothing. You don't have to say anything positive, don't get me wrong. But say, on the day of someone's funeral or the very day they die, don't go cheering and jeering about it. I mean, not outside your closest friends and family I guess.

And why? I dunno, makes you not look like a prick. I'd rather not look like a prick and a temporary chump that's too afraid to speak his mind than, well, a prick.

Also I'm sure there are exceptions for insanely heinous people. Like sa-

So, when this special election rolls around, how do you guys think it will go?
I'm sure it will be a hard fought race between Hippie McSmokespot, Commie Von Socialist, and whatever RINO the Republicans can manage to put in front of the firing squad in order to keep up appearances.

Well, we have our first candidate for the blindfold - Curt Schilling.
