Did they ever do something with them last year? I remember there was talk about getting these in the hands of someone. Not by anybody who could facilitate that...but I kind of stopped paying attention as soon as PAX hit.

a good reason not to steal stuff from PAX. it's like donating to Child's Play without actually paying anything...

I've got to get down there and see what others are up. It's a good thing so many of us are here year round so that the city isn't completely taken by surprise.

They don't bat an eye. Sakuracon invades early in the summer, swamping Downtown with cosplayers.

Indeed. I got my start with Infocom games, so anything even tangentially Zork related makes me giddy.

These signs really get me feeling a bit proud to be participating in this event (not to mention proud that I live in the Seattle Metropolitan Area). This really is the cultural event of the year for me (and most likely some other people).

TECHNICALLY it's only about 30,000 unique people. Count is turnstyle, so about 25,000 a day.

Still, Seattle is doomed to be nerdified. Bow before our geekiness!

The issue of the building excitement to near epic levels was brought up in a forums some friends (and fellow PAX-ers) frequent and it prompted me to put together a little video representation of the "squee" level (as it were).

    Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CxWcYHKzLI

Since '05, I've been waiting for Gabe and Tycho to someday close the Omegathon on Sunday with "Our loyal followers, as you exit the room the enforcers will arm you and assign you to a squadron. Your video game training should have readyed you for this. Tonight, we claim our birthright, and the city will be OURS!"

So, would it be red d20s versus blue d20s then?
