Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
New Protomen Album is out! Arguments kinda suck when they're not in Rock Opera format

Wily is the only one who would have a metaphorical line for a dude to walk on the wrong side of
Google+
Duh, okay
Google+
Yeah, but he also says to come out and fight him.
So unless he changes who he's talking to halfway through he's talking to Wily the whole time.
Let me tell you about video games. Let me tell you about Homestuck
He says "come out and fight" but not necessarily "fight me"
If he means fight Wily then it actually makes OK sense
Google+
that sucks!
most grateful
whoops that terrible picture is huge
I will not be told what to say, not by man or machine, not by you, not by anyone tonight
Gonna have to do better than fear
Gonna have to step out of the shadows and fight
And when they see your face again
They will know what it means to have fear dragged out into the light (Drag it out!)
I dunno, looking at all of that together it really sounds to me like he's talking about Wily.
Let me tell you about video games. Let me tell you about Homestuck
then one of the robots kills emily (probably joe)
light is put on trial for this, joe is imprisoned
mainly because panther uses a really distinctive low voice for light, and breaking out is totally not in that voice
I'm pretty sure you're right knob.
That said it would be really nice to have access to the booklet to see exactly how they meant it to be interpreted.
(Did anyone else picture Wily as (based off his voice and lines) the "clean-cut smiling bastard" sort of villain?)
Oh, also, I got my mom to listen to Act I. Her favorite song is The Stand.
I see him the same way. In The Good Doctor he's all cheerful and friendly, trying to persuade Light how much better everything will be after they take power. And then in The Hounds he's downright jolly, because he knows he's already won.

somebody should really make that happen

"YOU FORGET WHO PLUGGED THIS CITY IN"
*solo*
So I learned to bend steel
I learned how to make it move
I watched as it withstood
All the hell we put men through
if there ever was a chance
to undo the things I've done and wash these bloodstains from my hands
it has passed and been forgotten
these are the paths that we must take
'cause you and I, Tom, we are men
and we can bend, and we can break
It's the song you hear when you punch a high school bully in the face and then do a fist pump in mid air as the camera freezes.
(People would tremble at the sight!)
We will be build towers to the sky.
(Men were not meant for such a height!)
We will be heroes!
(We will build heroes!)
Yeah, this is more or less what I believe. Also, everyone is already quoting all of my favorite lines.
hahaha
Yes
Someone to take the death away!
No son will ever have to say
their father worked into his grave!
The lyrics themselves aren't anything too special, but something about the way they sound just makes me go "fuck yeah."
Let me tell you about video games. Let me tell you about Homestuck
Joe. When you see Emily, tell her to wait for me... 'cause I still have work to do.
queue the music and the image of Light turning to a worktable and unveiling the blueprints for Proto Man
I still like to assume that Here Comes the Arm is back to Light later in his life, after he's built Protoman and Megaman, revealing all of act two as his sad flashback when he realizes Megaman has gone off to fight Wily. He's despairing, then finds the letter from Emily and is like, "Ok, let's try this again."
I really hope this is true. Otherwise, the end of Act II is even more depressing than Act I.
Listening to the song again, it does seem possible. Light's lines at the beginning - "A crowd has gathered here / Once again they fail to see / You can't just set the world at someone else's feet / And not get trampled underneath" would certainly fit Act I's massacre better than Act II's failed uprising.

What are you doing
but either way it's all my fault
cause I made the man who laid his hand on you
and I would tear him down, but I feel like a dead man
what can a dead man do
I'd like to credit the protomen, they were a big inspiration

I think it fits Act II's ending just fine, because it shows Light hasn't given up hope, he's still inspired by Emily's memory, and he's going to build a kick-ass robot
Google+
But if it's like how I think it is, then it's a kickass segue into Act III.
The Other Dude as i'm calling him, left the city looking for light and heard that he had killed a man. Dunno if Joe is the bot or the other dude, but I think they are two separate people.
Listening to The Hounds this morning, it makes me think that Light is out on the streets trying to find Emily's killer and discovers it was a reprogrammed Joe, all while Wily looks on via monitors and cameras.

After listening to Here Comes The Arm again it's clear that Joe is the dude who leaves the city in search of Light, Joe seems to have friends/family, or at least a girl hes leaving behind, just doesn't fit as the robot to me. And again, if Joe is the robot, then what man does he think Light killed?
I still think Joe is talking to Wily in that song.
Really? in Breaking Out it seems Joe is searching for Light, if Keep Quiet is directed at Wily then who did he kill? And why would everyone in the city lock their doors at night for fear of Wily? To me it seemed like Wily ran the city from his tower, and Light was the demonized one, with the city turned against him. The beginning seems to illustrate this, and especially the last few lines of it seems more fitting to light than wily.
I’ve seen your face in the shadows
And I’ve seen your face in the places I wasn’t meant to be
I’ve heard them whisper about you
I’ve heard the men in the bars and I’ve seen the women lock their doors at night
They say your world is on fire
They say you killed a man for walking the wrong side of the line
But men, they say a lot of foolish things
And in the end the only words I can find to believe in are mine
