They said i needed to work on my hand painted textures some more. Which i am. I think I made a good impression. Gonna meet some more Blizzard guys this weekend.

Wicked nice textures, mang. The mossy/mildewy patches look a little blurry and undefined on some of the upper rocks. Maybe you could define the edges a little more? Some of 'em look a little splotchy (and the patches on the largest rock don't make too much sense, they seem kinda random, and probably shouldn't go up that high).
I'm going to stand my ground on this one mustang! I think moar contrast would ruin the mood of the environment. It seems kinda like he's going for midday lighting. I feel like it'd feel more dark and ominous if he added more contrast.
Reminds me of the new prince of persia environments once you've cleansed areas:

I dunno, I think those clouds have some nice motion to them... might just need some tweaks. Perhaps there is something that can be done with the ground?
I'm going to come back to the hurricane idea later. I don't have any inspiration for what to do with the ground yet.
ND: I was making tiled textures for my 3D work. They are pretty uniform and I want to change them up. I am currently working on other assets for that scene though. I will come back to them if there is time.
edit: That texture work is result of learning how to do texturing blending with custom shaders built in Shader FX.
As far as that ground texture goes, I'd give some more attention to the separation. Pavement stones don't typically just fade away as they approach grass.
Also, if I weren't so busy with the programming aspect of my game, I would fucking love to have you tutor me in environmental 3d, because I'm almost at the point where I want to make it look nice.

I think it looks like it came straight from the WoW... but not the expansions. Their textures have gotten a lot better since then.

Both the clumps of grass, and the stonework in the 2nd image could use some size variations...It looks a little too uniform to me.
