ATTN: Uncultured Internet Swine

Tomorrow (Saturday, September 26th) is Free Museum Admission Day!

All you need to do is print out an email and you get all the culture you could ever want for the price of a 8.5"x11" sheet of paper.

If you think this is an awesome idea, where will you go?

If you're not going (because you're a plebian), what's your favorite museum you've been to?

I'm going to try to go to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, just have to track down a printer.

ps. Sorry, Canada. :(

We have a "family" museum known better for it's Imax screen than any exhibit and a real low rent art museum. I probably won't participate.

Other than that, I've only been to a few of the Smithsonians in DC. We saw the Air and Space Museum every year but never even stepped in an art museum because my dad's a hyper-masculine plebe.

If this were available for Canada I'd totally go to the Drumheller museum for free.

I might anyway. Well except that whole 'I'll be at work' thing.

    Indeed.

However, there is a museum across the road from my university that has free admission permanently for most of the place, so neener neener fuck you all.

[tiny] it's nowhere near as awesome as the big museums in the US :( [/tiny]

I ride by the NSA sometimes when I go to some jobs in southern Maryland. They have a cryptology museum. I always tell myself that I'm going to visit it but never do. The Smithsonian never gets old. We do a family thing once a year and hit 2 of them. This year was the Air and Space museum and the Natural History one. Took the kid to the Crayola factory for a day on vacation this year. the second floor was a museum about canals and river locks and such. It was actually cool. Mainly, because of this.

    worked%20mcs%203%20kids.jpg

It's a 90 foot model canal system that you push little barges though and then have to operate the locks. Goddamn it was more fun than it should have been.

Also, if you're ever in Baltimore on your own volition, go to the Museum of industry. I haven't been in 10 years, but it was cool as fuck back then.

Goddamn, just remembered the B & O railroad museum. It's in a borderline sketchy part of town, but don't let that stop you.

i got to see the impressionism exhibit at the denver art museum when i was in third grade.

the rich kids in my "gifted" class, and they were all rich kids besides me and my best friend, made fun of me because all I could afford was a vincent van gogh fridge magnet with starry night (my favorite painting) on it at the souvenir shop.

but fuck those kids, they were fucking around the whole time and i got to see my then-and-still favorite artists work in person
