I have been to vicious punk shows and not so vicious ones. Depends on the band, but 90% of the time everyone in the pit acts civilly for as the pit goes.
Saw one asshole almost get into a fight with the guy playing bass at the time for V.A.S.T. The bass player would of kicked his ass. That is why I love going to that place for concerts, you are right at the stage which makes for awesome shows.
