Dammit, Monkey Island is downloading at 20kb/sec and Evil Genius won't even make space for the game files because the servers are too busy.

    :(

Man I've had Red Faction: Guerrilla downloading since Friday.

...Ok, I won't complain that my Monkey Island download is going only at around 460KB/s. :x

I hate you, I wanted to play either of my new games tonight. Guess I'll be waiting until later in the week.

Monkey Island crept up from 25% to 26% since my last post. Amazing. :D

I used that how much you spent calculator, and it says I paid $289.85. I don't think so. 5 games are from The Orange Box, and most of my purchases have been from sales.

    Download TCPview: TCPView

Then, use TCPview (run as admin if you're on Vista) to close all Steam TCP servers (this is important, NOT the UDP ones, just the TCP ones). Steam will then reconnect to a different server, which will hopefully get you a better speed. If you don't go faster in a couple of seconds, retry until you get a speed you like.

This shit totally needs to go into the OP, I've tipped this to so many people already.

    From the OP, might help...

edit - Infact, this might help me get a decent server for MI...must try it.

When I had 2 games at once this Sat they were both over 1 Mb/s. 4 games at once and it was about 400-600 Kb/s each.

All the calculator does is take what games you own and adds up how much it would cost to buy each one. It doesn't know:

    - If you got a game in a package
    - If you got a game on sale
    - If you got a game when it was more expensive
    - If you got a game for free in a promotion

    Etc.

So I'm trying to buy a game from Steam using my PayPal balance. And I'm looking at a screen on PayPal which seems to indicate that the money will be coming from my credit card, not my PayPal balance. It doesn't seem to allow me to change this. What is this madness?

Everyone should get Mirror's Edge, I payed full price for it when it first came out for 360 and was completely satisfied. I just picked up the PC version because my PC can finally run it and I want to see if there are any sick user created maps.

    Yeah, that's how it works.

For me, it took what was left in my paypal balance and charged the rest on my credit card. It might do the same for you.

just over £1000 worth of gaming! I've def not spent that though, maybe £200 or so...

I'm at $693. I think HL2, The Episodes and the Orange Box are the only ones Ive paid full price for.

Picked up Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Grid, That madballs thing, Left 4 Dead off steam, and the Crysis Maxpack thingy off D2d... So much for that PS3!

The first Red Faction seems to not like Vista, if I minimize it it locks the mouse in the center of the screen and tears all the way until I start a game but is fine afterwards.

Hmm, tried booting up Mirror's Edge, but it seems to default to an unsupported resolution for my monitor. This is unfortunate.

Any way I can change that without going into the game?

    Monkey Island needs a P4 3.0GHz / Athlon 64 3000+

Evil Genius on the other hand needs a 800MHz PIII

Great job on the site. I am very impressed you built the comment/publishing system from the ground up. It was probably a huge headache to start, but totally worth it in the end.

What's the community like for Mirror's Edge? Does it even have any sort of MP aspect or is it strictly SP? $5 is just too small of an amount to pass up for anything.

Pretty much no MP. Some people found out how you could create custom maps for it, but there's never been any official support or anything like that and thus not much came of it.

    Definitely worth $5, though.

I got Saint's Row 2 for my unused 360, and all the WH40k stuff...never played Company of Heroes and Red faction though. So I think it's worth it.

Plus Saints row on the PC should be fun.
