My wife has a Canon Rebel XT...with a spider living inside it. It took the lens off and looked around the lens area and I can actually see the spider up inside the camera between the viewfinder and the casing. I'm not really comfortable taking it apart. How the hell do I get the bastard out?

I guess we'll take it to a camera repair shop? It doesn't really need any repairs, just a quick disassemble and despidering.
Do not do this. Compressed air not operated 100% perfectly will mess your sensor up in a big way. Ditto on vacuuming.
You're probably looking at a professional cleaning anyway you slice it. Assuming there's some web-making going on in there, the camera will need a thorough de-silking even if you get the spider out yourself. If he's in behind the focussing screen, which isn't removable by the layperson on an XT, it'll take a technician just to get the spider out.
That said, you should shoot more.

I'm seconding this. Think of all the one of a kind shots you could get! Giant spider looming over your family portraits looking for a meal. Spider vs. dog. Spider hovering over the Grand Canyon. Spider crushing someones head. Spider typing on a computer. Spider playing piano. Endless possibilities.
