Alright so I realize I am like a year late to this party and I actually got this game for christmas last year and I never really ended up playing it.
But damn it now I'm gonna do this shit right.
So I know everyone else has already put like 500 hours into this game but you still wanna talk about it right?
The first thing we should talk about is which expansions I should buy and should I buy them right now or wait until I've played through some or all of the game.
there's probably some excellent mods out by now as well
let's pretend I'm playing it on the 360

i like shooting people and this game shoots people
ten stars out of five
I played it on the 360 first but after I beat it I was going to come back to it, so now i'm gonna try to discover all the locations in the goty version

A magician gives you a ring that, when worn, will let you see the world as it truly is.
However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.
I have owned this game on both pc and 360 and put over 100 hours into each
I fucking love this game
operation anchorage was fun
in order of awesomeness
Broken Steel
Point Lookout
Operation Anchorage
Mothership Zeta <--- awful in my opinion but i felt confined and it felt too easy
I just picked up the GOTY edition, might give it a go soon

The original ending is the least imaginative ending in a video game i've ever seen
In fact
It is procedurally generated

I got the GOTY Edition for 360 a couple weeks ago after playing through the entirety of the main game on PS3.
I find that after beating it once, I'm not able to play it in long stretches anymore. But just picking it up and working on a quest a night seems to be the way to go.

The 4/20 article from some pc mag said it was bethesda but not todd howard
and then fallout wiki says obsidian so

I have a 200+ hour save on this game, and after finally getting around to getting all the achivements to it, i put it back in its metal tin. It will stay in there till i can play it again, which could be years.
I love this game, but we need a break. I almost lost my job to fallout 3, and now i have vanquished the beast, it shall remain in it's metal prison, and i can live my life again.
i keep a save just before i blow up megaton so i can watch it again and again

I often decide I want to go back and do a mission differently, and I have had glitches fuck save files up occasionally. Also I had a friend who wasnt used to these kind of games and he would play for a long time then boom car explodes. Basically I keep 10 saves and just overwrite them as I go.
Broken Steel is awesome, and the Pitt was interesting. Basically I dont think they're worth the cash, but if you find yourself out of stuff to do Broken Steel is great.
Thats pretty wise, they're all pretty enjoyable and varied. Zeta was fun because hey it was fucking aliens, but it definately got repetitive and dragged. It and Anchorage were my least favourites, but I still liked em because they were something different and Fallout 3 is just damn fun to play.
See now there's like the ultra edition or something that has the whole game and all the DLC and it costs the same as the regular game. How is that fair?

I heard Operation Anchorage was shitty and terrible
and I was under the impression that the Broken Steel content took place after the main storyline of the regular game.

broken steel replaces the end of the game
so you want it before the game ends
because the original ending SUCKS
also, Operation Anchorage is the least necessary of the dlc but I thought it was pretty fun

You left out The Pitt

Isn't Obsidian making that?

Obsidian is not the Bethesda B team

Well, untill New Vegas comes out.
They're trying out the whole publishing for other developers thing now
I don't really see the point of this
Especially with Broken Steel letting you continue after the ending
I keep one manual save and an auto save and it's never done me wrong
Well, that and Bringing Down the Sky.
Shit sucked.
you monster

Not 10 bucks awesome. It was like two hours long.
except Anchorage
It only cost 5 bucks
I swear it was 10 when it came out.
because the game is a year old?
for someone who waited, awesome
8-)
