You think this letter on my head stands for [Awesome Moments]?! NSF56K

And lo, a thread was born which had lots of awesome moments, highlighting character defining pages/panels, or just plain cool moments.

But it died, shot in an alley as it left a screening of Zorro. Here is the body, filled with 100 pages of fun

But its son lives on, filled with one defining purpose, to make more awesome moments available to us all:

Things that show us the true character:

as10a.jpg

as10b.jpg

Things that are just cool:

jla9a.jpg

coolcap.jpg

And things that are just the best thing to grace paper:

IA4.jpg

IA5.jpg

Hawkeye's thought bubbles right there are the best thing in any Mini Marvel strip.

IA6.jpg

So let the cycle begin, and maybe this time it won't be sent back into the distant past to start the whole thing over again.

What's that second scan from? The one with the boxing glove arrow.

Edit: Also, you should link the old thread for posterity's sake. Think of the children!

You should post that, "How about just one! Pointed! Arrow! Dad!" page.

Assuming I'm remembering right and that was in that issue..

Cry for Justice may have the worst dialogue to ever appear in a comic, but it also has a talking magic gorilla jumping out of an airplane to fight jetpack robots alongside his gay blue skinned alien partner, just like all the buddy cop movies from the 80's:

Bucky Cap might be great, but Steve Rogers is the greatest comic book hero ever. A few examples:

When some terrorists demand that the missing and presumed dead Captain America be released to him, he doesn't show, and some punk FBI agent starts talking crap about Cap. Hercules puts him in his place:
    cap1n.jpg
    cap2ra.jpg

Cap has just watched Michael Korvac, who was a God-like Sentry character, beat the shit out of the rest of Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, killing many of the most powerful supers in the universe:
    cap3g.jpg

Baron Zemo creates the strongest Masters of Evil team ever and manages to capture the Avengers mansion and Cap by surprise, and is determined to break Cap's spirit before killing him:
    cap4h.jpg
    cap5j.jpg
Cap eventually gets free, and leads the remaining Avengers in retaking the mansion, and beats down most of the Wrecking Crew by himself. But the real highlight of this arc was the final fight between Cap and Zemo:
    cap6l.jpg
    cap7.jpg
    cap8q.jpg
    cap9.jpg
The epilogue to this storyline is still one of the best character moments in a superhero comic:
    cap10.jpg
    cap11n.jpg

And one last cool Cap moment, from the end of Busiek's Avenger's run. Kang has conquered the Earth while Cap and the Avengers were on a mission in space. When they come back, they are able to destroy Kang's orbiting weapons and force him down to Earth:

You mean the kid with the black hair?
I'm assuming from context (though I haven't actually read the books, just seen the movie) that it is Akira, causing the psychic event that wiped out original Tokyo, leaving way for Neo-Tokyo. Of course, as I said, I'm just guessing.

I'd like to know why the dude shot the other kid though. Doesn't seem like a smart thing to do when dealing with kids who have super powers. Just shooting them through the head in front of other kids with super powers... Not a wise move, career wise.

WE3 has some of the most amazing panels ever. Tinker moves so fast she moves between panels. That was awesome.

There is a manga by Nihei, who is most famous for a bizarre Wolverine story and the manga Blame!, called Biomega. I read it years ago, through fan-translations. It is now coming out in the US some time soon, so I won't post any of the fan-trans'd scans. It had some really awesome pages/panels showing how fast the protagonist moved.

Is We3 out of print? I asked about it the week before Christmas in my local comic shop and he looked it up online and said he wasn't able to order it. I'm assuming he was looking on Diamond.

He was trying to take out Akira, who is much more powerful/dangerous than the others.

Random House is reprinting the 6-volume set of Akira TPBs. The movie is pretty good, but if you have a little over $100 (online prices) to spread across the next year or so, I highly recommend these. Or bug your library to pick them up.

If Diamond stopped carrying it or DC stopped printing it, that would be madness. Amazon is listing it as available, so you should be able to get it through them or a standard bookstore.

A wise decision. There's two TPBs, but the last few issues of the series were never collected, so you'll have to go diving through back issue bins for those.
