It's definitely bi-monthly so I think #3 should be out in a couple of weeks.

Question: I'm fast becoming a J.H. Williams III fan and noticed he did all the art chores for Alan Moore's Promethea- is that series worth checking out? I've got pretty much everything else Moore has done but the mythic heroine isn't of much interest to me. Is there more to it than meets the eye?

EVERYTHING MOORE DOES IS WORTH CHECKING OUT

A POX ON YOU FOR EVER DOUBTING THIS

It's more a matter of priority- eventually I'll get around to everything but as far as the entirety of Moore's works I've only just gotten V for Vendetta and some of the latter Tom Strong but I'm well past the halfway point. After V tho- damn- I the man can do no wrong in my eyes. Prolly going to scope out Promethea and From Hell this week. Many thanks guys.
Have you read watchmen? Watchmen's pretty good.

Yea, several years ago when I was first exploring teh greater comic world (outside of spidey/xmen) I read Watchmen and then again this year. It's not my favorite Moore work by any means though. I really enjoy Top Ten, League, Tom Strong and the rest of his ABC stuff so I'm just now buying up all his older work.
I really appreciate just how much content he packs into all his books, it's a bit wordy but in a good way- beats the hell out of all the super decompressed superhero books going on lately.

Can't imagine why it wouldn't be. I remember Ellis saying somewhere that he'd actually finished the first six issues before they were ever sent to the artist (and goddamn I love the art in this book), so it sounds like it'll be timely for the first arc at least.

I was just wondering. This is probably the only comic I will be buying this semester, unless I can scrape together enough change to try Silent Dragon. I realy really want to try Fell, but I dont know.

I am several hundred dollars in debt and I need to save for a trip to France in the winter to visit my fiance.

Didn't it come up fucking yesterday? Because if I'm not wrong, there are at least 420 people who have posted in the introductions thread. Aside from Warren commenting occasionaly, I imagine most of them are different people. Which is a fuck ton of people in something under 24 hours of mostly downtime.

So i just got Fell, which is a promising start to a great new series from Ellis. Even though it is shorter than most comic single issues, it sure didn't seem like it. The best part is, once again, reading his ideas for the book in the back, and the whole idea of picking up a single, self-contained story for a cheaper price, which is something the comic industry could use (i'm looking at you, massive company wide crossover shit i can never keep up with). Anywho, would love to hear what others thought of it. I haven't even touched on the story, a neat little crime story that makes the city of Snowtown a character in and of itself. Don't wanna spoil it though

I just picked up today, I really liked the one panel scenes near the beginning that fill in parts of Fell's past. I also picked up Jack Cross, which was pretty badass.

Is it safe to assume that this is THE Warren Ellis thread?

i wasn't impressed. ellis' take on the LA porn industry? I think i would have slept through this even if I didn't get his daily profanity filled emails. #2 was much better than this.

edit: upon reflection, the scene where they are smoking pot and how that (plus him being fucked up to begin with) was reflected in the art was well done

#3 was a bit of a letdown, for me.. but that about the joint smoking and the art was cool. And I like how it turns into black/white when there's violence going on.. cool touch.

I hope #4 is a little more interesting

It seemed really short to me, compared to the first two.

No doubt it's the same number of pages. Maybe it was just a case of less dialogue, more action.

    I finally got Issue 1

And while Jones did get in a fight, issue 3 was the first time we get a sense of him being more than human. The crazy 'targeting' sequence while he's figuring out how to take the goon down, followed by a broken lamp to the crotch.
