pro-bono working. how does this work with charity/donations? am I, as a freelance web design in Minnesota, able to write off time spent on non-profits.
I'm pretty sure you can't write of time federally - only actual $$ spending - but I know some states tax services, so would that apply in Minnesota?
you're right about federal volunteer hours. as for minnesota, my guess is it's the same--I would do research but it looks like the MDR broke their website
My place of work changed their withholdings pending some tax-cut that was supposed to come through the pipeline.
They never came through the pipeline, so we have 2008 taxes on our 2009 withholdings, which in my case was about half compared to 2008.
We're getting $200 back, but would have owed $600 had we not gotten the credit.
I make around 30k a year, my wife makes under 20.
So I went to my HR department and filled out a new W2 with extra withholdings so this shit doesn't happen again. They didn't tell us anything about this until it was too late to change our W2 to make up for it.
Oh well... I get to claim my daughter for the first time on my 2010 taxes. So that's a plus.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division. The Remington parkerized shotguns, with fourteen inch barrel, modified choke, Wilson Combat Ghost Ring rear sight and XS4 Contour Bead front sight, Knoxx Reduced Recoil Adjustable Stock, and Speedfeed ribbed black forend, are designated as the only shotguns authorized for IRS duty based on compatibility with IRS existing shotgun inventory, certified armorer and combat training and protocol, maintenance, and parts.
