I've actually been refused by a site here and there because they don't like the fact that I was born in 1907.

I usually choose 1912 for Steam. I'm sure Steam has 98 year old gamers...

It just appeared there in my Tools. I don't even any STALKER installed in this particular machine...

Way too many people here asking about a game that they should already own from the insanely awesome $50 THQ pack the they had on sale for black friday.

and yet for some reason it is the only game in the pack that I have yet to play.

It's funny that the only real reason I want to grab Titan Quest, a game focused on collecting items, is that I want to build my collection of Steam games.

This is my problem...At the rate i play games, i believe i have enough to last sometime into 2011.

I'm going into grad school this fall and will no longer be working. Buying cheap games now is like hoarding food for the winter :)

Not legal, blame the ESRB. They require age gates for the trailers of M-rated games.

I never check the Tools tab, but I see it to. I'm also running beta Steam clients...

But I tried running it and got:

    "The game is currently unavailable.
    Please try again another time."

Freedom Force is, imo, a terrible game so far. Boring in scope and scale. Controls are cumbersome. The plot is terrible, but I'll attribute that to it being based on comic books plots (not exactly Heinlein or Norton).

I beat mission 2 and I'm completely turned off the game. The only difficulty I've found is in man-handling the terrible controls, and the plot-tension revolves around having no real idea what the plot is.

Same here, I bought it a few years ago in a discount rack and played it for all of one hour. I still want that hour back in my life. :v:

Ditto. What the hell is up with not having check points? Even on easy mode a few pistol hits and you're dead and I have to go through all that cheesy dialogue and the whole level AGAIN?

Fuck that for a laugh. I could have got a coke for that £2.

Try setting the Cycles under the CPU header to max. This will cause DOSbox to try and guess the correct amount of cycles per second for the emulated CPU.

Aye, I found a recommendation to set the line

Wow, my computer is dying....Dead Space and Crysis crash like crazy, so i decided to do some diagnostics, 2 of my 4 1gb ram sticks fail nearly 100% in memtest (never seen that before) and one of my cpu cores fails Prime95 within minutes. On top of that my vidcard's fan sounds like it's eating a bearing under full load. I've been building computers for over a decade and never seen so much go wrong at once.

I blame Deadspace, it all started when I installed it!! o_O

Nope, it very well may be heat issues, luckily all parts have been approved for RMA :) I think im going to shop around for a case, this one is OLD. probably my fifth computer in it.

This is a good idea, find the sweet spot, then hit alt+enter to go to a window mode (if you aren't already in one). At the top of the window the amount of CPU cycles DOSbox is emulating will be displayed. Then you can just plug that into the config file so you don't have to mess around trying to hit the sweet spot every time you play.

Company of heros and ARMA2/OF:DR have me thinking of a heavy some game where you go in to somewhere like Haiti and give emergency services, distribute food, rebuild roads and roads and building in ever expanding sectors and missions while taking security and maintaining law and order.

Unfortunately, an orphan mission that is fun but doesn't draw the censorship hammer from Europe and Australia will be tough.

Anyone else know what the hell ValveTestApp39120 is? It's on my installed games list since the newest update.

EDIT: Trying to run it gave me the error message "this game is no longer available for free," and then it took me to the STEAM store main page. Weird, but now it's gone from my games list so whatever.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Hope it wasn't a virus or something D:

Anyone know what that 'stalker ownership check' thing that appeared in my tools menu is?

I didn't notice it yesterday.. pretty sure it's a new addition.
