Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Welcome to Chaos in the Old World, Fantasy Flight Games' boardgame take at Games Workshop's famous fantasy IP. In this game, players take the role of one of the four Ruinous Powers of the universe.
----
This will be a Play-By-Post game of Chaos in the Old World.
o is for Open, it rolls them over and over until you get a not-6. e6 just rerolls 6s once, even if another 6 comes up.
Please use "COW 10" as the campaign name.
If you are uncomfortable inputing your own rolls, I can make them for you. I have been modding games on BGG for awhile now, but this will be my first on this board.
----
You can read some good game information in the first few posts of Game 9 if you are unfamiliar with how to play.
I will be using the growing list of people who have been wanting to play to fill the Chaos Gods' shoes for this match.
If I might make a suggestion, it may be wise to inform the other players that they have been granted slots in this game. I doubt they will be subscribed to this thread, and they probably won't be responding until they stumble upon it's chaosy goodness.

Yep, thanks.
I was just working on some PMs. Guess I only need 1 now.
I think the nature of this game -- minimal interaction with card draws and other hidden stuff, and frequent but short actions -- really lends itself to PbP play.
The fact that it's a bloody great game helps too, but I think it's the natural convenience that has brought us to 10 straight games.
I've just tried to ping The Cow King on Windows Live Messenger. I'll wait until after work tomorrow before moving on to GoodOmens and tacking another name from the list on as the last player.
Old World card - Skavengers: Place one Skaven in Badlands and Border Princes. In the end phase, the player with the lowest threat places one Skaven in one region where there is at least one Warpstone.
Tzeentch, let us know if and what you wish to discard before drawing to 5 cards.
Brothers, the old world appears to align itself to the joy of Khorne. Blood shall run deep, the bloodthirsters will feast. Our actions must balance this sanguine delight.

Although you are entirely correct in your conclusions, the piddling skaven will only serve to make my task harder.
I'm told the harder fought the victory, the greater the rewards... Truly I shall have to see that my throne grows large with the skulls of my enemies...and my friends too, of course.
Dangit Mordenthral, the map template is minimalistic so that it can be saved as a gif or indexed png without any loss while maintaining a small file size. Saving the map as a jpg misses the point entirely, since it introduces noise AND has larger file sizes. Fix it!

Note: MrB had to tell me the same thing in my first game.

Excellent

Victory step
Khorne 42VP, 4/10
Nurgle 27VP, 5/11
Tzeentch 23VP, 7/9
Slaanesh 24VP, 4/8
How in the world did they manage to let you get that many VP with Khorne, that quickly?

Everyone is too afraid to give Khorne something to kill. They give me the run of the board every turn. Even with my cultists.
El Skid
The Cow King
GoodOmens
Shushnik
I will then deal out cards; post the starting board; and give Tzeentch a chance to discard before the draw phase.
Khorne> Nurgle> Tzeentch> Slaanesh for me

Yep, thanks.

I'm eager to avenge my terrible performance in my game that just ended (check my signature for the thread, if you're interested.)

If you want to see a game where Khorne is (hopefully) about to win by VPs, check out the link that Darian put in above.

I have no preference you other players choose first
Nurgle>Slaanesh>Tzeentch
I know I previously said that I'd prefer to actually roll some battle dice, but Nurgle is the power I'm least interested in, and Khorne's out.

Let us bathe the Old World in BLOOD (and pus and change and sex juices, optionally)!
I'm actually at a store right now waiting on my wife. I'll kick it off when I get home in a bit.

Of course, all cards fit my plans perfectly. Even the one that don't.

Start 'em off, Khorne.
Bloodsworn to the Border Princes- 6/7 PP remain.
Blood for the Blood God!
Summon Acolyte to Tilea. 5/6 remaining.

It's only polite to wait your turn to die.

You have to admit that it's good advice.
True...I should not have dived ahead, but I was going to bed and didn't want to keep everyone waiting.

Leper to The Empire, 5/6
I think we can assume that brother Tzeentch does this move now, given his comments. That would mean Slaanesh is up.
