OK, it wasn't just me then. That came out of no where.

Well, to be fair, he was losing Brest that turn, so he had to take a territory if he wanted to keep from destroying units. Plus, Germany is way out of position for retaliation.
Long term it was going to cause problems for him, but he wouldn't really have to deal with the repercussions of it for at least a year.
hermen was more feeling that playing it online doesn't really achieve the feeling of playing it in person, and he wasn't really enjoying it
which is understandable
he hasn't said he's quit officially or anything, but he didn't submit a turn, so

Not to make any implications about your own play, but he had basically weaponized you against me and Russia. Ignoring whether or not war on Italy was a bad idea, his alliance with you gave him safety on two fronts: yours, because you had to trust him, and mine, because I was fighting you. Then he stabbed you.

He wasn't really that far, though. Germany had the ability to cover all his remaining territories within one turn, forcing France to hold his two new territories with two units -- a wash, sure, but a turn before that he didn't need to protect his German border at all.
Germany was making some pretty big gains. I bet if France had asked if he could grab a territory to cover his losses, he would've gotten it.
Anyways, that's enough theory...macy. Plenty of game left.

Yeah, but look at where Germany is now. The only way he can take Munich back this year is with Austria's help, and that's only because Austria happened to have a unit there. He can barely protect Holland, and if he does so, he leaves Denmark open to you.
At this point, the thing that's going to kill him is the fact that you're in a great position in the north, and the only reason you're in such a great position up there is because he's committed all his units to fighting me. He can't stop you from taking Belgium, and even if he was somehow able to keep all his territories up north, I'm pretty sure he'd lose the war of attrition against me in a couple years.
When he moved towards me, I assumed he'd made some kind of alliance with you and Germany. The fact that he had made no such alliance with you means it was pretty much a critical error, since it means he's fighting a two front war without the resources to do so.
Turn file here. Just resolve it, all retreats result in destruction.
France is defeated in Munich, Belgium, and the Gulf of Lyon. I will not require retreats, since I've received no orders from France, so those units will simply be destroyed.
Austria gains 1 build.
England gains 1 build.
Germany gains 2 builds.
Italy gains 1 build.
Builds due Thursday 11:59 pm.

Turkey has 4 supply centres.
France has 3 supply centres, and no player in control.
Uh, I didn't attack Moscow. Or at least I don't think I did. I'm away from jDip so I'm not 100% on the abbreviations, but Moscow is mos, yes? I didn't have any ->mos orders.

I think you ran the first game I was in, JPP.
That was good times.
However, that person seemed distraught and uninterested in the game in their last PM.
So I will update anyways.
this is fantastic
edit: oh wait, it doesn't work like that. nevermind.
The King of France is shot dead, and chaos reigns in Paris! French armies are paralyzed with indecision and lack of baguette.
An Austrian fleet attempts to affix wheels and make its way north, but fails to recall that coastal rules limit its options.
France retreats from Piedmont to Marseilles, necessarily.
Turkey must choose where to retreat from Sevastopol. Please post your retreat herein.

So, are we looking for a new France, or are we giving Herm another shot?
I'll retreat into the awesome black sea.
If not, France will belong to whoever can claim it.
The uncertainty of this situation will reflect the uncertainty of global politics. :P
I've now fooled you exactly as many times as necessary, thanks. Course, I also fooled myself this turn... :?
I have been doing a lot of freelance work so I haven't been keeping up with my diplomacy games.
Russia has been destroyed.

Yeah what the hell happened there?
It doesn't even make sense to do that, I just brain farted on it.
You let Turkey out of its cage.
Don't you know what happens when you let a turkey out of its cage?
Well sure, but you have to carve it up first.
Turn file here.

Sorry for the delay, guys. One order was late and then I was busy and also lazy.
