wow, fuckin excellent blog post. i'd honestly probably be happy as a clam just reading entry after essay-length entry about the ideas they throw away. shit's fascinating.
so on the one hand, the fact that they threw away the repair node because it was too turtle-friendly is a good sign. it means they aren't, like, retarded, and don't wanna buff sentries/slow down the game/make tf2 suck. on the other hand, i hope the repair node isn't a good representation of the kind of ideas they're considering, because that would mean they're spending a lot of time testing ideas that seem, to me, to be obviously terrible.
love the shoutout to competitive players at the end of the blog. valve has been pretty awesome about supporting comp play.

...
they should give engies a flashlight to replace the pistol, when the flashlight is on it scrambles spies cloaking devices causing them to be seen while the light is on them.
ok, upon rereading the blog post i don't really feel very embarrassed any more. the blog post idea lacks both of the big ideas that make mine good, and in practice they would be almost nothing alike (the blog one helps turtlers, mine made turtling impossible).
it's still really funny that i stole the fundamentals of the blog idea without realizing i was doing so, but i'm not embarrassed for calling their idea "obviously bad" and thinking mine was good because both of those things are still true. i wish i hadn't been so quick to delete that post, but oh well
i'll email valve/post on the steam forums, but this time i'll phrase it as a way to make the repair node a good idea instead of a completely new unlock i came up with myself. in the morning i'll retype it as a short version and post it here just so this post doesnt seem like gibberish referring to nothing. also i will do all these things when i have a laptop instead of a crappy phone.
What the engineer really needs is the PDQ wrench. A level 1 sentry that can be up in 2.5 seconds is HUGE.
Though if they plan on making new buildables it would be super cool if they made a sentry that produced almost no damage and huge knockback in a radius about half the size of a normal sentry but with omnidirectional targeting that can hit 3 people at the same time.
It plays like a slideshow on my computer, every time I move my mouse it takes like half a second for my screen to catch up. Doublecross is the only map that does this to me.

Most accurate blog post Valve has ever made.
Sounds like they don't even know which items are going to make it, so definitely at least one non-Engie patch coming next.
yeah this
they seem like a class I could really dig if people didn't kick my ass so fast

There is something wrong with that map.
It plays like a slideshow on my computer, every time I move my mouse it takes like half a second for my screen to catch up. Doublecross is the only map that does this to me.
Hurry up and figure out what this means, you guys!
Edit: These guys are on top of it, apparently the end cutscene slightly changes so you now get dragged away by a robot
Well? What's the hold up people?
I think it's a GLaDOS or CJ bot, but yeah its mechanisms sound Dog-esque
new portal game is chell escaping the cruel machinations of the science boat against a glados strapped to the evil elephant bot
mmm its sounds a bit more robotic to me...
that fat nerd that plays g-man dies and it's revealed that the fat voice actor was gaben with powder make-up
