I think it's not... emeraldy enough? the tone is a bit too subdued for a Sally, which are a very vibrant green.
I highly recommend snot green for salamanders. and devlan mud for shading.
I guess the pigment density is pretty high in the P3 colors, because I was able to get Skorne Red to cover black perfectly after 2-3 coats. It's like an entire line of foundation paints.
Probably black undercoat, foundation green basecoat, a couple of layers of Snot green, a Green wash, repanel with Snot green then highlight up towards putrid green. Shame they don't make putrid green any more. I love that colour.
Bare in mind I have never painted a Salamander myself and I'm working off my experience with other colours. Orkhide is a foundation right? I'd use that to start rather than the duller Knarloc.
The arms a bit thinner because they don't have as many coats as the rest of the model, but i do like this color a lot more.l

I feel tired
I'll try to take some pictures.
...fuck, I always forget the rivets. And I forgot to blackline the russes. Ugh, those are the best pics I'll take, but I will do those things, damnit.
I'm super excited to get started on my army but man, i have over 40 models to paint and 2 troop transports on top of that.
Obviously it only goes in a circle!
Just keep going man. You'll have an army of painted and nice dudes and you'll be like "this is rad and my army is rad". It's worth it.

The next wave of the painting challenge starts today, Elite or Fast Attack for 40k folks.
I'm going to do a squad of Sword Brethren Terminators (close combat). I'll post pictures of the primed level once I get back from the gym.
Get your selections in and get ready to paint guys! the first Challenge was a little bumpy, but went really well! Lets keep it up!
This challenge runs from 3/10 to 3/24.
I'm trying to think of an elite I can paint. I'll probably do Arjac Rockfist since I just made a model for him...

This Friday I'll compile a list of all people who've thrown up pictures of their base level models, and make a list, and update as necessary.
1. Base black.
2. Gnarloc green
3. Snot green.
4. Wash with Devlan mud.
5. Tidy up with more snot green
6. Scorpion green highlights
It was the first model I ever painted and assembled. I stripped it, and I think broke the track guard in the process. I also forgot/didn't notice that it only had one, until after I primed it.
Now THAT'S an Iron Priest on a Thunderwolf.
