omfg this is still going on?

just some FYI guys, LEFTY CONTROL SCHEME HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING LEFT HANDED

I'm left handed and use the default, I know many other left handed people and they use the default

the only reason it's called "lefty" in a bunch of games is because it's just a easy way to differentiate the names. You'll notice in the system wide setting it's not called 'left handed'

Please stop saying left handed people are being screwed by this since they are not.
In fact FyreWulff being right handed and wanting to play with this option shows that it has nothing to do with being left handed!

With that said, why would you ever want to use the C buttons in a N64 game that supports analogue for movement? that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard

finally, Fyre how do you know this isn't supported? The only screen shot any of us have seen so far state that it's set to "classic" mode with a left and right arrow which means there are more than one mode, do we know what the other modes are yet?

    No

Project Bean is Goldeneye but instead of James Bond it's Joanna's dad.

That happens to take place in the same locations.

So, more or less what I said, right?

Can I have a link to this?

No you see his brother was oppressed and persecuted for being left handed.

    He's taking up the crusade.

I gave up on a lot of the challanges in PD because they just seemed way the hell out there; anyone heard any rumors if the previous cheats are still enabled?

I thought that there were only the 3 modes of "Classic", "Angel" and "Duty Calls"? Someone had a slideshow of screenshots that only showed those 3 schemes (and maybe a 1/3, 2/3 and 3/3 indicating page numbers?).

None of those look like right-stick strafing to me. FUCK!

    WHERE'S MY 1.1 HONEY CONTROL STYLE?! D:

(...and Fire and Aim are switched too! D:D:D: )

Also, to all the people said to "take a day to learn the controls and get over it" or something like that, there have only been two shooters since the release of PD64 that I've been able to play because the aiming felt natural. Metroid Prime Hunters on DS, and Ghostbusters for Wii. Let that sink in for a moment, and figure out why that is.

Right stick aiming in shooters is just my Achilles Heel in console gaming (or perhaps Nintendo gaming). I've tried the Halo games, the Call of Duty games, Gears, and even Metal Arms: A Glitch in the System and I think a Rainbow Six game, and also a little KB&M on my friends' computers since original PE's release. Unless I'm doing a pistol or sniper rifle, I just can't get used to the aiming because even the recoil in those games throw me off. (KB&M wasn't so bad, though). There is just something that GE and PD did right. Maybe it's the slow aim, maybe it's aiming with a moving crosshair and not aiming with a moving head with locked crosshair, maybe it's your aim retuning to center as you walk after aiming on an angle, maybe it's all of that. But it all felt natural, and it still does to this day for me.

As for my crazy control scheme where I want strafing and look up/down on the face buttons, can anyone explain why I shouldn't want that for just this one game especially when the original was set up that way in the first place and has been said in previous linked youtubes and interviews that this remake kept the digital aiming and strafing? I'm just asking for the original control scheme to be retained. I'm not asking for any of the current control schemes to be removed, and I'm not asking any of you to use the original scheme. I am asking for the chance to join in on this game with all of you in a competent manner relative to my shooting gaming experience, despite currently not owning a 360. Let that one sink in as well. For all of the things Microsoft has done with the 360, all that needs to be done to have me buy their console is to add the original PD scheme. Is someone from Microsoft going to legitimately look me in the eye and tell me that it's cost prohibitive to add (edit: to have retained) those controls to this one game even if they get a new customer?

But no one from Microsoft cares.

Plenty of people have learned to play with the popular control schemes.

There was nothing good about the GE/PD controls. I even knew that back in 2000. People who remember not having a problem with it probably just recall it's very VERY forgiving auto aim.

I got the original Perfect Dark at a bad time in my life, and I didn't get it enough of a shot. I had bought a N64 second-hand and picked this up after reading about how it was a spiritual successor to GoldenEye right after my freshman year of college. But due to work and studies and moving to a different dorm in between years (and the PS2/Dreamcast launches), I just sort of... stopped playing it. I should have played it more, always regretted giving the system to my brother... haven't seen it since.
