[Chaos] CitOW Game 9 - Victory for Slaanesh!
Posts
3 dice in Brettonia: 3d6o6h4 1
One Acolyte bites it.
Bretonnia normal: 2 hits to finish off the Great Unclean One
We can't keep Slaanesh from taking this land, but we can at least have a grand battle on our way out. Tear that abomination's entrails out, my champions!
Err. Yes, but in the future you should post Blood Frenzy results before normal results, because otherwise it looks like you saw the results of the second roll before you assigned the first.
It's really, really irrelevant here, but keep that in mind.
1. Norsca -
2. Troll Country -
3. Kislev -
4. The Empire -
5. Bretonnia - great unclean one, acolyte
6. Estalia -
7. Tilea -
8. The Border Princes -
9. The Badlands -
Board after battle:
Technically, don't the rules state that hits don't carry over from separate battle instances? Namely, that you cannot assign hits to a token that would otherwise not kill it?
Though, yea, not that it matters in this particular case, I was just curious if Blood Frenzy bypasses that rule.
From earlier:
Aidan Twosouls, Dwarf Shaman, in Vale of Buried Shadows
1. Norsca - No domination
2. Troll Country - No domination
3. Kislev - Ruined
4. The Empire - Slaanesh dominates for 7 (7 > 5)
5. Bretonnia - Nurgle dominates for 4 (7 > 3 = 3 > 2 = 2)
Slaanesh places 3 corruption. DIAL.
Nurgle places 5 corruption. DIAL.
Tzeentch places 2 corruption.
Khorne places 1 corruption.
Bretonnia is the third region to ruin. All four players score 4. Nurgle scores 3 for his upgrade.
6. Estalia - Slaanesh dominates for 4 (5 > 4 > 3 > 1)
Khorne places 1 corruption.
Slaanesh places 3 corruption.
Tzeentch places 3 corruption.
Estalia is the fourth region to ruin. Slaanesh, Tzeentch, and Khorne score 5. Nurgle scores 3 for his upgrade.
7. Tilea - Khorne dominates for 2 (5 > 2 > 1)
8. The Border Princes - Ruined
9. The Badlands - No domination
DIAL tokens:
Khorne: 1
Nurgle: 1
Tzeentch: 0
Slaanesh: 1
Updated VP:
Khorne: 7 + 11 = 18
Nurgle: 30 + 14 = 44
Tzeentch: 9 + 9 = 18
Slaanesh: 42 + 20 = 62
Edit: His VP total is correct though.
In that case Slaanesh should be at 62 VP after the corruption phase.
1. Remove Chaos Cards from the Board.
2. Hero Tokens are resolved - kill a bunch of stuff that doesn't matter
3. Resolve Old World cards - nothing
4. Score Ruined Regions - Bretonnia is the third region to ruin
Nurgle scores 10 for first.
Slaanesh scores 5 for second.
Estalia is the fourth region to ruin
Tzeentch scores 11 for first.
Slaanesh scores 5 for second.
5. Advance Threat Dials -
Khorne:
32 - Draw 2 Cards
Nurgle:
22 - Upgrade
Tzeentch:
20 - Upgrade
Slaanesh :
24 - Upgrade
6. Check for Game end - Slaanesh flies past 50 points as Nurgle cracks it. Khorne teeters on the edge of a dial win, but doesn't quite manage it.
Total VP:
Khorne: 9
Nurgle: 44 + 10 = 54
Tzeentch: 18 + 11 = 29
Slaanesh: 62 + 10 = 72
Victory for Slaanesh!
Seriously, though, I did enjoy this game a lot and it was pretty tough. I had originally planned on going for a dial win, but the fact that there were limited numbers of Noble tokens and I didn't realize that made me change my plans. Otherwise, I was going to try to isolate in the north and simply sit on dials. Luckily, three Insidious Lies in Kislev/Empire in three turns, with 3 nobles/heroes, managed to pretty much save the day. Great card in the right conditions. Needed to draw that Fields of Ecstasy on the last turn, which I luckily did, and for Khorne to not play a Field of Carnage in Tilea, which he didn't.
As an aside, is this the largest amount of VPs collected by a winner so far? I'm curious.
Edit: I believe it is! The previous was 64, set by Nurgle.

That also invites others (Slaanesh) to join you to help ruin places more quickly while you earn first place points for it.
