That's why I based it solely off of my base salary at first. But sales are very steady. Last year in a mall not nearly as populated as the Pru I doubled my salary in commission. That's why they promoted me.
That's all well and good but shit happens and it would be wrong to put others in a bad situation should your finances take a dive. A dude that lived with me and my last roommate for like 3 months worked at a bank as a financial adviser and was supposedly doing ok commission wise. Then he had a weak month and then wrecked his car. Couldn't make rent the upcoming month and he tried fleeing right before the 1st.
Thank god I had previously decided not to sign a lease with him because I didn't particularly care for him personally and we only got screwed for one month of his share which we got back eventually after I threatened to throw all of the shit he left behind in the fucking lake.
So I've got an interview with a local private security firm. I know I should be happy, but for some reason I can't shake this odd feeling I've got about it.
As a security officer I'll have you know I'm killed by a pro(an)tagonist at least once a week. Once you learn to walk it off the hazard pay is really quite worth it.

That makes sense. I've been kind of grappling with the idea because of costs. But I really want to move out of home sooner than later, too, so I was hoping it was more possible than it appears.
If you don't mind being a little tight money-wise or living with a group of people then go for it. Otherwise, I'd suggest staying home and building up some savings and moving into the city with a strong savings so should commissions go down you'll be able to be ok for a few months.
What you might want to do is scope out CL for some people looking for a roomie and seeing if you find anything that sounds like something you'd like. Also, think about how long of a commute you're ok with. And find out if the company would subsidize your T pass at all, some in Boston do.

This is, in fact, my ultimate fear.

sheri is it a different spot at disney or is it someplace new?
Not Disney
Glamour Shots?
Thank god no
It's a company that compiles lists for direct marketing (oh god I hope they don't sell them to telemarketers) that's mostly based out of NY, but there's a remote office down here that needs an assistant. 9-6 M-F job, way better pay, hopefully less drama and stress. Also I can still work seasonally/part time at Disney.

The only thing that I'm concerned about is that I'll still need to work somewhere in Disney to keep my benefits (getting into the parks, discount, etc), which I do really want to keep. If I go part time, I'll have to give them two days of full availability, which would be Sat/Sunday. If I go seasonal, I lose my 2 years of seniority if I ever want to come back as full time. But 2 years isn't really a lot. Hrm.
Don't go getting yourself worked up until you've sat down, been interviewed and then offered the gig. First things first...go make yourself pretty so you can flirt with whoever you're talking to.

In that case, I'll never get the job!
Hey-oh!
Really though, don't sweat Disney until you know more.

At least, none I'm qualified for.

I just really wish it were Disney calling me for an interview. Then I wouldn't have to worry about it.

Not job related in the strictest of terms, but close enough.
