    New FMA chapter
    FUCK YES KIMBLEE

FUCK YES EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT CHAPTER
ED FINALLY DID SOMETHING WHICH WARRANTS THE SERIES BEING NAMED AFTER HIM
When the hell did Pride consume Kimblee? I can't remember. So many things have happened.
Happened during the fight against Al+Philosopher's Stone.

Lion-dude bites out Kimblee's throat right before they run. Pride eats Kimbley before he dies.
Kimblee is actually pretty cool sometimes. He's a smooth criminal at least.

    Also, chapter ending KAMEHAMEHA!

Just finished watching Shoka, a one episode OVA about battling Japanese calligraphers that protect the Shogunate from those that would try to undermine its power produced by Production I.G. There isn't much to say in terms of writing as it's basically people fight using their secret writing/drawing techniques ala Okami. What made this a engaging watch is the quick paced animation of the fights. While the line work on the characters is somewhat rough (due a stylistic choice to resemble Edo period art or simply a constraint of budget), when the action starts moving it becomes fairer to the eyes.

It was a fairly enjoyable watch for just the action alone. I wouldn't mind seeing more of this if it is ever produced.

In the case anyone wants a preview of the action I made a gif.

    Dostoyevsky namedrop, awesome.

Oh god, the bathroom sign. What the fuck

That bathroom sign was awesome as all hell.

Interesting. Power set wise from that gif, that seems to draw a bit from Read or Die. Is that accurate?

Only that character does. The main power featured is art coming to life. Also everybody is a ninja.

Man. That latest FMA chapter. It pretty much had it all.

Any chapter with transmutation circle porn gets a passing grade from me. Then throw on top a shot of Izumi's trademarked sandel and we're good to go.

Wasn't there another series with a similar premise, except the magic is cast from words instead of art?

Hmm, just got caught up on Gintama...I wonder if the fact that I got 99% of the references mean I've crossed some threshold of weeaboodom that is not meant to be crossed?

Oh well, it managed to make me laugh aloud fairly regularly, which is pretty impressive.

Edit: Chapter 128 had to be the best, though (prolly NSFW-y):

That....that was a quick two months.

Also booyah Hattori is back in business again.

Yeah, they're really moving the story along.

    It's pretty exciting though.

Yep, they're really moving now. Actually, it's been something like what, five years in-universe since the start of the series, so Crow's been running for four years while Kiyoshi and Otters have been running for three each about, right? I'm probably botching the timeline here, but whatever. I was curious as to how realistic it was for Kiyoshi and Otters to be continuing - they're in the upper half of the rankings, but not top-five material like Crow. Looking at the page of current Weekly Shonen Jump series on Wikipedia, it actually doesn't seem so unusual in fact for those series to be continuing. As long as you consistently stay out of the bottom five, your series is alive...

Is Anri the slasher? Is she not? Are there more than one? Well the end of this episode throws things off a bit.

Hoping to see more of Kida's relation to the Yellow Scarves as he seems to have been a big shot in it.

Shinra's dad seems goofy but he still seems like bad news.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a manifestation of Anri's inner emotions or something.

I have to ask, are incidents of non-fatal slashings relatively common in Japan or something? It just seems to be prevalent in various animus.

I don't know if I'd like that. Seems a little too magical. I kind of think it might be some sort of copy cat crime where some other mentally unbalanced person is slashing people up. It looks like the person who got those school girls was using a kitchen knife or something of similar size whereas the slasher usually carries a katana or otherwise long blade.

Celty's fear of the traffic police is

Mika and Seiji are really into each other even if their relationship is messy.

Also caught a Sora no Woto ad in the backgrounds. Nifty.

Well there's a headless psychopomp running around Ikebukuro, so it couldn't be too magical.

I'm guessing it's more like a Fight Club kind of thing going, with Anri seeing someone else. We'll know for sure if they're not the same person if the ganguro girls show up again and get interviewed.

I'm sorry, but the OP alone has animated frames of a child eating a woman's breast and another cartoon of a woman getting a breast massage. The rest of this thread has routine and sometime illustrated references to "lolicon" and various other forms of depravity. While I understand that this is typical and perhaps routine in the style of japanese cartoon that this thread is dedicated to, it is neither acceptable nor appropriate to the Penny Arcade website nor the D&D forum. We have many people who check into this forum from work, and if seen by their employer, this kind of content could get people fired.

Maybe the Anime community in this forum isn't really mature enough to discuss their entertainment appropriately in D&D, or else perhaps anime isn't an appropriate topic to the D&D forums. In either case, a cooling-off period is in order, and the D&D anime thread will be shut down until further notice.
