Space Porno? Blame Arivia for the placeholder.

Starting a Star Wars IRC game soon, [strike]tentatively set for Thursdays at 8:30pm[/strike] Saturdays at 3:00pm CST. Players have shown interest and are going to post concepts, but technically it's still open for anyone for now. I'll be putting together a crew of four or five.

Old Republic, bounty hunting. Players will have a ship. Both ground and space skills will get time to shine, I'll be picking characters with some balance in mind there. Motivations and backstory are wide open, if you want to discuss with the GM privately some of that then go right ahead.

If you're not sure if your concept is a good one, go ahead and post it and I'll let you know before you make a sheet. Otherwise go ahead and post sheets with character traits and history and such.

Books you'll need: Star Wars Saga core rulebook. You'll probably find the old republic stuff useful, as well as starships of the galaxy if you're looking at a spacer.

Update:

Characters are as follows:

AdventFalls - Lee Wyn
Delmain - Garret 'Mac' MacMurry
simonwolf - Pris Kwi'teksa
Spectrum - Aleena

As a precursor to the first session (which should be May 15) we'll have the characters set the scene of the ship, close to arriving at their next destination system.

    Character Idea Basics:

    Name: Kieffer Loran
    Age: 23
Position: Bodyguard for the Senator/Representative from (some human planet. dantooine perhaps?)

    Basic concept::
Kieffer knew that she was in trouble. She had known from the start just how this was going to end. Unable to go back to Coruscant. Unable to see her mother or her sisters again. But she had known that was what was going to happen. It was inevitable when you killed a Senator.

So, you weren’t directly responsible for the Senator’s death. But you were on the security detail that day. Or you were supposed to be. But the night before you had let yourself get led astray by some jaybird in a local bar, and you’d gotten yourself shit-faced hammered. You slept right through detail that morning, and by the time you woke up and realized just what the hell had happened, it was too late. The Senator was dead and your name was on the lips of every security officer on the Planet. And they all wanted to know where the hell you were. And why you hadn’t been by the Senator’s side when this all went down. You were supposed to have been there. He had asked for you specifically. Something about enjoying your company. But you hadn’t been there. You’d been knocked out in your bunk. And he was dead. And the entire Police Force was looking for you.

So, you did the only thing that made any sense. You bailed. You jumped. You took off at a dead run, grabbing all your gear and what guns and ammo you could and you jumped on the first ship off the damned planet. Of course, had you known anything about the others on this ship, you might have gone for the second ship off the planet, but at that point, any ship would do.

I do have a Sullustan Noble who focuses on engineering/droid mechanics that, though I liked him, didn't quite fit in the Jedi heavy game a buddy of mine ran. Maybe I will dig up that character sheet with some tweaks and see if he makes the cut since my Thursdays are free this semester.

Ahava that concept is workable. The crew not being a random group of evils but those fallen into the circumstances is what people seemed to have in mind, and much more interesting and potential there in my opinion.

If people want to discuss concepts I'm in #mafia and will be about all day, I have an operation tomorrow so I am at my parents and have nothing to do but sit here with my laptop. :^:

    Basics:

    Name: Lee Wyn
    Age: 20
    Occupation, Former: Shopkeeper Assistant
Growing up in the 'backwater' of Agamar tends to leave you with a certain mindset. Take Lee Wyn. He spent all of his childhood learning how to survive the various wildlife and brigands from his family. As he got older, he finally moved to the capitol, Calna Muun. He promptly found himself ill-equipped to deal with the jungle known as a 'city'. It wasn't that he couldn't deal with the city folk, it was that he had been 'living under a rock'.

Eventually he managed to find a job that he could actually do decently at- assistant shopkeeper. It wasn't so much the shopkeeping he was good at as it was what the store sold- blasters. For all Lee's time as a kid, he knew blasters and he knew how to use them. So when a customer needed a demonstration of a blaster or needed specs, he was the store's go-to guy.

One day however, the store was ransacked and the owner was found dead. The reason was simple enough- Lee had caught his boss selling weapons illegally in exchange for spice, confronted his boss about it, and been forced to shoot first. When the police found Lee, he'd been found over the boss's body, holding the spice. The police had every reason to suspect him for cold-blooded murder from that moment.

In Lee's mind, it was surrender and be found guilty for self-defense, or run and live the rest of his life as a fugitive. He chose the latter option.

    To be edited:

    Name: Ain't got nothin'

Concept: A mix of Mal and Wash from Firefly, but with more Force-yness

Background: Working with <Insert Gang Name Here> was a pretty excellent way to live. Never really wanting for food or action, the only thing you had to worry about was pissing the boss off. This is assuming, of course, that you're ok with rape, drug trafficking, and the occasional murder. If you aren't, well... then, it's really not the life for you.

<Insert Name Here> has been around the gang for basically his whole life. He lived as an urchin on <Planet> and as he grew up he tried to buddy up with some of the younger gang members. When he was old enough to shoot, he joined up, but the leaders quickly learned he was better at sneaking around and piloting than he was at the more gruesome stuff. For a few years, he worked happily but he never really accepted the "costs of doing business" and some of the more radical people in the gang upset him through their willingness to perform gruesome acts of violence upon normal citizens for no reason other than "The Boss said so," or even "He looked at me funny."

<Insert Name Here> waited for the perfect moment to run. He knew that there "was no leaving the gang, except in a casket," but he wanted to try to append "or in a stolen ship" to that sentence.

    Update on Kieffer::
She doesn't really know how old she is, or when she was born. Her earliest memories are of running the streets with her big brothers and being used to get food and other things that they were too big to reach. As she grew up, she got better at finding and grabbing and taking things.

But she also got better with guns. She had had a blaster put into her hands at the young age of six, maybe younger maybe older, but she was young. And running with the gang of orphans and urchins that she did, blasters were the best way to keep yourself alive.

Most of her group of Brothers died off one by one by one until only Kief and one other boy remained. And that was when they were 'found' by the Boss. He was a local crime lord and he loved to do some recruiting from the lower streets. He chose young kids, just on the verge or past the turn to adulthood, and he brought them into his organization and fold. Kieffer and her Brother, who didnt have a name other than Brother or Sevens, were found just about then, and brought up into the upper streets.

They were given further training and their hand to hand combat was honed, at least to the point just slightly above brawling. Sevens took right to that, but Kieffer preferred her blasters and rifles. Boss was moving up in the world and he was bringing Kieffer and Sevens along with him. As his stars of fortune rose, so did theirs.

And then, the strangest thing happened. Boss was elected to the Galactic Senate as a Representative from ((insert planet here)). He was to report to Coruscant immediately. He could bring along his own small security force to supplement the protection he would be granted on Coruscant due to his status.

Boss chose several of his very loyal older hands, and he chose Kieffer. Sevens was to be left behind on ((Planet)) to look after the organization. Kieffer was upset that she was leaving Sevens, but not as upset as he was to be not going to look after Kieffer. He had noticed the Boss's change in attitude towards her and he didn't like it. But, they followed orders, so Kief went to Coruscant and Sevens stayed behind.
Plug in rest of backstory from earlier into here.

    Voila!!!

    still a work in progress.....

Yeah, players and characters were primarily decided on a while ago in IRC, where the game will be taking place. I'm not sure Infidel is looking for any more players.

    Sorry. = /

As the stars lengthen into the blue and white streaks of hyperspace, Mac finally leans back into his chair and spins around to yell down to the cargo deck.

"Hey, we have any of the cargo left or did we have to dump the whole thing after all?"

Waiting for a response, he spins back to the controls and makes sure the last set of hyperdrive adjustments haven't left the engine's power levels fluctuating again. After banging on the cracked display to make sure it isn't just frozen, he smiles, content that once again he managed to keep this bucket of bolts in the air... with the help of the crew.

"Hey, what are you guys up to down there?!"

So.... apparently I need a physical description and an intro thing.

    Physical description:
Clad in a jacket his dad gave him for his birthday and unassuming garb, Lee Wyn looked the part of yet another Agamar resident. His face is clean-cut (he's still trying in vain to grow some kind of facial hair). Short brown hair that grew a bit longer as it approached his brow, dark brown eyes that seem hardened, perhaps by experience or fatigue or disappointment.

In the confines of the ship, Lee ran his fingers through his hair as he huffed in disappointment. With the ragtag group of people he'd been with, nothing came easy. By all counts, he should've suspected their last client had been lying to them. He'd learned the hard way that they always lied.

But this one had been so convincing. Kept preaching about 'honor', 'making things right', 'doing the right thing'....

Lee had been there once. Maybe that was why he was so willing to believe, even if he was supposed to have learned better. But when the chips were down, and the client performed that double-cross... he knew what he had to do.

He stared at the pistol and the rifle in front of him. If nothing else, he was a damn good shot.

Description and background are in my sheet, Infidel Approved (tm). If there are any questions as to what other chars know about her, let me know.

Aleena occupied a table to the side of the main hold, a variety of components laid out in front of her. She had a loupe in her eye as she examined the collimator lens in her hands. Satisfied, she put it down and returned her attention to the various other bits and bobs that would be reassembled back into her weapons and continue her cleaning and checkout.

She spared a glance over to Lee, who had occupied another table. It looked as if his tasks were completed and he was in deep thought. That was fine. They all had things to think deeply on. To wonder how and why she had fallen so far...

Mac's shout broke her out of her reverie. She called back up, "Maintenance." The word was appropriate both for her current activities and her current situation. She was still just...getting by.

    She frowned. It wasn't enough.
