She was the reason why Kurt was going to leave the team in the first place before they changed that one-shot.

Has Storm ever "died"? Because now that Kurt is gone, all of the "All New X-Men" who made me start reading the book when I was younger have died, except for her.

storm tried to kill herself by flinging herself out into space but got saved at last minute when she had a brood embryo implanted in her body

that is the closest she has come to death

I'm not waiting as long as they made collosus fans wait. They have to the end of the year to bring him back. I don't care how. Have his dad make a deal with mephisto. Xmen: brand new day. I don't care.

Storm "died" in UNCANNY #248, but was rezzed via the Seige Perilous stuff and/or Nannie (hence Storm running around as a little kid from UNCANNY #255 to the X-Tinction Agenda).

    In X-Men?

That must mean the events in the issue and the issue itself is really important!

You mean off the Uncanny team (since he went over to Excalibur)? About 140 issues. He came back with Kitty during that Search for Xavier Story from around Uncanny #360

Well, Mutant Massacre happened in...1986? And the Excalibur special (the prestige format one shot prior to the ongoing) happened in late 1987-early 1988. The character wasn't out of circulation for long.

It didn't progress the story much and it didn't function as a proper sendoff for the character. Basically, it was filler culminating in a fatality.

I'm a huge fan of the deceased character, and I just don't care.

X-Men as a franchise has always been really death-obsessed, and under Yost and Kyle it's only gotten worse. Really, everyone knew it was coming, everyone knows it won't stick, and the impact is dramatically decreased by the fact that X-Men characters have been dropping left and right since New X-Men. Why should anyone care when this kind of thing has become the norm?

I have a prediction that one of two things will happen:
    1. Hope will bring back Kurt at the end of Second Coming.
    2. Kurt will come back some day because he's infected with that nanovirus that brought the other baddies back to life. He'll be a villain for a little while, then eventually shake it off.

Kurt will be back real soon.

    No, see,
they'll make him totally hate God because it will add depth and character because a mutant shouldn't have faith and he'll totally get tatoos and he'll slice his tongue so it forks and he looks more like a demon and he totally sleeps around

I almost bought the R.I.P variant, but it looks pretty damn awful.
I hope they didn't do this just to let spider-man become wolverines new best friend.

If anyone wants to see some of the epicness, albeit unneeded epicness, here ya go.

Do not look at these unless you want to see some hardcore spoilers.

Do robots keep their brains in the heads? Seems kind of stupid to mimic human design when you don't have to, leaving weak spots in obvious places. If I was a robot, I'd put my brain in my ass, and whenever I did something smart they'd say, "That's using your ass!"

But the best part is that Nightcrawler can't go anywhere near my man-robot ass/brain, because he's Catholic.

It looks like he at least did some damage to Bastion, he fell over after the bamf. I don't think elf's plan was to get stabbed, he teleported in to bamf Hope away and Bastion's arm happened to be where he was porting to. isn't that why he never teleports to somewhere out of his line of sight? i think it's a quality death, unfortunate, but like everyone says not unexpected.
