if you take out the sunflower, the seed has no context though
in good design, you don't just toss shit in, it has to have some sort of bigger context, and flow together.
so if i take out the sunflower, the seeds also have to be changed
so now i don't know what to do.

It's not really the idea of a sunflower that bothers me, it's the seeds set up in an array like that. It feels crowded.
I think Tams idea of cutting one or two of the seeds and rearranging them would be worth trying.
My opinion, i think you should scrap this one.
the gesture is good, but it doesnt look as confident as your other 'loose' figures above. This one just looks out of place.
winter: you know what's so funny about that?
all of the other figures were done in my figure study class
where i had a really great prof who made me feel comfortable
that one drawing is the only one on there that was done in my drawing studio class
where i had a professor who made me feel really uncomfortable and up tight
1- This guy is posed/drawn really well, but he's not effectively relating to the platform. I lightened that little bit of the surface to relate it to those light shapes on the body.
2- This hand gets weirder the more I look at it. It might be that these lines are too dark, or it might be that the perspective is off. Or maybe you just have weird hands, I don't know. My pollicis muscles are way bigger than that.
3- These lines aren't differentiated very well. Also, where's the head of the tibia?
Wah-wah-wee-wah! Congrats Beavo that is fantastic! (Look at it's plushy man-boobs!)
I look forward to seeing the others as they are revealed...
Crit on your brand/logo work:
I don't think it needs the stripes at all.
I've gone on about this in past but you should be able to justify every element of a design, and why it adds to the cohesive whole. Refining means removing the stuff that doesn't need to be there, and leaving behind the idea in it's simplest, most elegant form.
I know you've written that the striped break up the space and add a decorative touch. This to me reads as 'fills up some space'. You don't need to do that, the logo works well on it's own.
Bevo thats really awesome! Did you have a hand in planning out the materials/structure of the plushies too, or was it just "draw the concept and we'll make specs to send to china"?

hahah it's true!
thanks all for the crits!
advanced crits from paradise!
(i don't know what head of the tibia is, google time!)
That little thing that sticks out on the medial side of the ankle. I don't know what the exact term for it is. Distal epiphysis? Ankle... bone?
Anyway, you made a ridge for it on the outline of the foot, but there's no shading to show its 3D form.
thanks paradise!
the thing I've been working on for almost a year now for Valve has been released (well...one of them)
Boomer Plush from L4D!
he makes barf noises when you squeeze his hand!
they're selling him here: http://store.valvesoftware.com
I want to see more. Are there turnaround pictures somewhere?
i can't show them because they're under NDA
How did you go about designing them?
INSTAGRAM
i illustrated 360 turn arounds of them and did some close up illustrations of important details
Damn that NDA!
If I had monies/ or played LFD I would so be all over that. I'm imagining these selling out in no time anyways.

And there are going to be 4 more?

I mean, I was jealous before.
But now it's official.
