Your favorite Snacky foods?

So, hey D&D, I gots a question for you ladies and gentlemens.

When you're in the snacky mood, what do you go for? Chips? Nuts? Jerky? Something else completely?

Just curious.

For the last couple of months I find myself going for Corn Nuts. Something about 'em is really good, and I can't quite pinpoint what. The Limon flavor is my favorite, but Chile Picante, Ranch, and Barbecue flavors are awesome as well.

cornnuts-limon.jpg

cornnuts.jpg

For beverages, I find myself generally going for Vitamin Water. It's still got sugar in it, yeah, but it tastes like something and I don't feel all nasty and bloaty afterwards.

vitamin-water.jpg

So what's your snacky favorites?

^^^ They're neither hot nor spicy, but they're a million times better than plain-jane Cheez-it's.

Also, Ben and Jerry's, of course, but in particular:

    • Coffee heath bar crunch

    • Dublin Mudslide (Irish Cream Liqueur Ice Cream with Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Coffee Fudge Swirl)

    • Milk and cookies (Vanilla Ice Cream with a Chocolate Cookie Swirl, Chocolate Chip & Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies)

    • Oatmeal Cookie Chunk (Sweet Cream Cinnamon Ice Cream with Chunks of Oatmeal Cookies & Fudge)

    • Mud pie (Chocolate & Coffee Liqueur Ice Creams Swirled Together with a Chocolate Cookie Swirl)

Chocolate Therapy (Chocolate ice cream with chocolate cookies and swirls of chocolate pudding)

The last one is only available at their stores. It is also perhaps the finest thing I have ever eaten.

Cherry Garcia and many of their older, more widely-available flavors are inferior to their newer concoctions.
Or maybe I just got sick of them, because I used to eat a pint of Cherry Garcia and/or Chunkey Monkey like every other day.

It is also amazing that I don't weigh 300 lbs.

I'm a fan of chocolate covered pretzels, on the rare occasion.

But one snackfood stands out above all else, and you're a communist if you don't agree:

    Cashews.

My local liquor store sells these sheets of beef jerky, we're talking like 5"x8", for a buck fifty. Pretty good shit, too.

As for brand name snack food, I'm mostly a Cooler Ranch Doritos or Sour Cream Onion Pringles man.

Venturing off a bit, but anecdotally it seems like even with the absurd fat and calorie content of fine cheeses, people that eat them don't seem to be any more or less fat than anyone else.

Are they really as terrible for you as the nutrition facts indicate

    yup

I used to be able to eat like a pound of them.

I know because they used to sell them in 1lb boxes.

A small bag is good now, and I even get quite the sugar rush.

People who gorge sometimes on good cheese usually have pretty good eating habits and exercise habits otherwise. At 3500 calories per pound of fat, it takes a loooot of over-eating for significant weight gain.

I usually just snack when I'm drunk but it's always spicy chips. Spicy kettle chips, spicy crunchy cheetos, tortilla chips and spicy salsa. As long as it's got that sweet burn I'm good.

Oh and these got me through a Dallas summer without a/c before.

It says in the picture link, it's Camembert. I've had it once but was too intoxicated to remember what it tastes like.

Also I love me some homemade chili con queso. Basically just take your favorite cheap cheese (I use pepperjack), add some of your favorite salsa and hot sauces or whatever, melt, and enjoy with corn chips.

Super quick to make and a great snack food.

Edit: After a little cheese research apparently Brie and Camembert are very similar.
