EDIT: So I understand that getting AP at a low level is optimal (and I remember it being hella fun in the early game), but I also recall that as the game grew older, higher level groups would dominate the lower abyss and generally make life hell for the people meant to be there. Is that still a running issue in this game?
I was considering jumping back in this weekend and rolling a Glad to take advantage of the double xp weekend. Don't really feel like picking my lvl 35 Ranger back up.
Yeah, I think I was just experiencing burnout. It probably helps that so far I've been playing with friends and I haven't returned to the Abyss. I don't know, I just feel a lot more content with my experience.
Guess my new Gladiator will have to be put on hold until I can get in touch with them.

It's hard to say at the moment, but I'm likely to want to take my Templar along. I've forgotten: What level does Krall stuff start?

yeah, i tried all different cfgs, nothing worked.
If that fails, uninstall (again), reboot, and do a clean install from DVD (version 1.5) and let it patch to 1.9.
If THAT fails, try picking up a used copy of Crysis and see if your video card is choking on the CryTek engine.
Oh, Moriarty, Krall stuff supposedly starts at 18, but I'm usually around 16 when I get there and haven't had issues. By the time you hit 20, you should be well past that area.

Anyway, I was just thinking about how sad it is that I've been playing this game for 7 months and I still haven't gotten to 50 because I still don't know what class I want to be. It's kind of hard playing alone because then you're tempted to make tons of alts.
I only have the steam install, no DVDs. I just did a fresh install of that before 1.9 hit, and was getting the same thing. Now patched to 1.9 hoping that would've fixed it, and same problem.
Feeling pretty annoyed that NcSoft couldn't unblock my account in time for the weekend and have to miss out on the double xp event.
Would have been nice if they had emailed me telling me something was going on... my email is still associated with the account as I did get password reset notice when I tried it just now.
They told me via E-mail about it. You need to have allowed them to send you the Aion newsletter for your account during creation.
Kaseius re subbed last night and seemed to enjoy it while he was streaming. But it looks like same old same old still.
I've gotten plenty of emails about my account being cancelled/going inactive, or to come back to check some of the previous patches out.
Nothing about my account being blocked/banned.
Was just looking forward to using the double xp event to power through the lower levels. Anyways, I am curious to see if there is any kind of revival in the game. I did like it a lot aside from the grind.
The 1.9 changes haven't really done much but inflate some prices in the middle levels and lower drop rates on white vendor trash (aka harder to earn kinah).
Still a twink and gank theme.
Oh, almost all of those "cancellation/ban/whatever" emails are from the scammers trying to get you to give away details so they can steal your account.
I just started playing this, have just been leveling a guy not really looking into anything yet, so if you do find something I'm down.
From what I'm seeing on the Aion forums, pretty much all of the servers are like that. They're supposed to be merging some "soon"...

Are you guys swimming in Gladiators? They finally got my account recovered, might roll up with you if I find the motivation to re-open my account. Assuming my ranger is in the same shape as your characters so not opposed to a re-roll.
We have no one playing plate classes, to my knowledge.
Yeah, atm we have no gladiators or templars. We have 1 of every other class, and i'm not sure what Coutts ascended to. We have our guild started as well. My assassin's name is Sidaltus on Siel.
