Damn, what to do. I love my current electric guitar and if I did get a second one I doubt it'd be a Strat--but this implementation just looks so awesome. I mean, I already expected to have a lot of fun just playing my regular guitar along with the pro-mode guitar track in no-fail mode, but I'm really impressed with the finger placement detection in that video and, man, I'm going to end up buying this, I just know it.

Eh, if they weren't nearly the exact same guitar with only different pickups, that might be an option. Although it would involve more woodworking then I'd care to undergo. A V is hard enough to play sitting down, I imagine a W would be freaking impossible.

I think I'm going to wait for some reviews on the Squier. If it's worth a damn as an actual guitar that would really up the value I could place on it. I'm curious how it sounds to comparably priced Squiers. As I already have a few guitars, I don't really feel like spending hundreds of dollars for one that sounds incredibly worse than those I already own.

Oddly, the ingame use matters less to me. I wouldn't pay that much for something that was great in the limited context of the game but complete crap outside, but I might consider it if it's alright in the game but also pretty good otherwise.

I thought it was interesting how in that video they both showed that you can play through the real amp while playing in to the game, which is new to me, but also that it doesn't work very well. According to the screen that guy was missing notes all over the place when he had it hooked up to an amp.

Could be a delay introduced by the amp. Calibration would be a bitch... Did they show the same person playing without the amp?

Oh, and so far, lots of passive-aggressive hate for the Miley Cyrus stuff. The usual 'I won't get it, but good for the fans' thing. Some comments that appear to be either parody of hate, or actual hate. More than a few things like 'this better not be on disc'.

Page 18 of a (so far) 21 page thread brings us this Entitlement Fail:

So...HMX can get Miley Cyrus (which no doubt will bring in the dough), but they can't get Muse?

- A band that is highly requested on the Rock Band forums.
- A band that is seeing a rise in popularity due to their music being (unfortunately) featured in a teen vampire flick.
- A band that is extremely popular in Europe and selling out arenas in the U.S.

A Muse pack would make MORE money than this Miley pack.

Yes... This is exactly the sort of thing that would rankle Howard Beale.
