The only thing I'll say about the red card was that it didn't need the embellishment, yeah you got tripped you didn't get sniped.
I'll be sure to applaud and remember the name of the first person I see in this year's world cup who doesn't embellish a fall. Assuming it'll happen at least once.
Why are you even bothering to watch, Larlar?
Because...I like it?
Fair enough.
Maybe it's just that you're feeling attacked, or something, but the way you are framing your comments certainly makes it seem as though you are annoyed, rather than entertained.

Nah, I'm pretty mellow and content. I'm also about to eat a delicious cupcake, making me all the more satisfied with present events. Thank you for your concern.
I can't imagine that last sentence sounds sincere, but it is.

I'm still more or less with Larlar on this red card call. This doesn't mean anything, but I've played football for eight years and what I see in the replay is poor ball control by the striker, and a goalkeeper with no intent of fouling the guy. Guy tapped half his foot on the goalie's shoe, and - to my mind - knew that ball wouldn't stay close to him, and deliberately dropped. I'm not saying it's a total dive, but I don't believe a miniscule touch like that would unbalance a player, and if I put myself in his position, I would have made sure i didn't keep on my feet after touching the goalie. So that's what I'm seeing here, and I still think it's a bullshit call. The scoring opportunity wasn't taken away by the goalie, it was ditched by the player because he knew he'd get a penalty. But whatever, people are bound to disagree, and I won't bitch about it any more since this has gone on for way too long already.
I'm sure plenty of people are going to say it, kevindee, but that was such a clear professional foul that I can't imagine a scenario in which it could even be discussed as subjective.

I know, I know. I guess I'm just not seeing it. It just looks so off to me because the attacker's right leg is bending before his left leg even touches the goalie, like he knows he's going down already because that ball he just received is in no way staying close enough to him to finish off quickly, and there's a defender 10 feet away. Every time I look at the replay I wish the ref hadn't been at that angle so he could get a clearer shot of how the guy went down, but I don't blame him for the call. I still think that even if there hadn't been any contact or obstruction in any way, the guy would have dropped because his ball handling wasn't ideal.
“We saw how the Americans played against Spain with a lot of interest,” Hitzfeld said. “You know that if you are going to have a chance against [the Spanish] you need to do certain things very well.
“The USA did not try to do everything. They accepted the fact that Spain has pace and width and simply made sure they kept the center of defense as tight as they could. It is not a perfect system, but it was a very interesting tactic and it worked.”
Hitzfeld is the Swiss coach
Basically if you want to beat Spain you gotta play like the U.S.
That ain't depressing, it's infuriating. Fucking fair weather shit fans just going to games to blow on their stupid fucking noise makers and ruin everything for everyone ever.
I hear the temperature was below freezing at that point

Jozy dives, and quite a bit more than the Mandon does
But Landon is the most emotional, mercuric player we have, and when frustrated...yeah, I'd say he dives more than Jozy.
Just usually in specific situations, or in response to specific types of play.
