That was such a great finish. Can't believe we went from dead to winning the group. So great.

Just posted this in the last thread moments before it died as someone requested it.

It's the Guardian Twitter replay thingummy.

The USA match should be a good one to watch.

The last five minutes of the England match may just read "HEAD TO THE CORNER"

Watching the "USA" and "1-0" EXPLODE at the end of that is awesome.

Whatever man, he just scored a goal, in the 90th minute, to put his team through to the round of sixteen. That's like boyhood dream shit for American soccer players. Give the guy a break, he's been our best player for years now...he deserves some emotion.

If Germany wins today, England would have Germany and then the winner of Argentina/Mexico whereas the US would probably have Serbia and the winner of Uruguay/South Korea.

It's a long running thing Gnome :) I'm happy for him, but calling him a douche goes back to his Leverkussen years and even if he were to save the world from an alien invasion single-handedly, he'd still be a douche. It's really tongue-in-cheek.

Now you see what's wrong with football is they need to scrap offsides and make the goals bigger. Oh and add a shot clock. No game can actually be exciting if it's low scoring. :p

I think I am physically exhausted now.

And I don't think anyone else in my office is a fan, as it's completely quiet.
The woman next to me did ask "are you all right?" when I pratically fell out of my chair after the goal.

Yeah, 3 or 4 chances where it seemed like the hand of God came down and kept the ball from going into the net.

We had about a bajillion chances to bury a ball, yes. We also had a good goal called back because of a bad call, again....but it's all erased now, because Donovan buried a ball in the 90th minute (the first 30 seconds of stoppage) and it's all good.

Me either. I'd been trained throughout the match to believe that any ball directed toward Algeria's net had no chance of actually going in.
