Since you survive he's basically like 'well good for you.
Frankly, the ending where he becomes prince is probably my favourite, since it means I don't get screwed and I don't have to buddy up to nines.
Of course, they're not a clan anyone wants to screw with; they're too tightly organized.
(Not like it matters; Gehenna had to have been just around the corner.
And for going nosferatu the first time around, I don't feel like I really missed out on anything. Why would I care about not having options like seduce when I can just intimidate to get what I want? Plus, dancing nosferatu in leather gear was well worth the loss of other social interactions. I could never pass up a chance to threaten the lives of everyone in a club by dancing with those clawed death-hands.
Strauss does jerk you around a bit with the whole gargoyle thing.
"I need to clean up my large, stony, hate filled mess. Oh, and you can't tell anybody."
I get the feeling that a Tremere PC that does that won't be living long after the end credits. As if you didn't have enough enemies already.
See, that's not him fucking with you though. That's a case of you taking a shit in his coffee and *rightfully* getting cheesed off.
I dunno. If you side with the Anarchs, you do have some powerful allies of your own on your side (ie Jack, Isaac, and Nines, whether you like him or not). Besides, by the end of the game, while you are no antedivullian, you are a pretty competent vampire in your own right, able to hold your own against plenty of other powerful vampires.
The only way I could see you getting screwed is if you do the solo ending.
This is the clan that found a way to wipe out every single Tremere Antitribu without exception.
Even Jack I imagine
kpop appreciation station i also like to tweet some
Jack goes out like a bitch
What happens to him?
Ugh, thats unacceptable. I think I'm happier considerin the game its own canon. No way that, that Jack would go out like that.
Only Theo rose above it, because Theo is Theo.
Also, the "canonical" ending for oMage was awful.
"Here I am... the most veteran soldier on the battlefield."
"I've got their meeting right here."
etc.
Not to mention the fact that he refuses to admit that the Camarilla basically saved him (and every other Anarch in LA) from getting massacred by the Kuei-Jin. Personally I like Nines despite his faults, and when I'm actually role-playing my dude it's hard for me not to side with him in the end, because, you know, he saved my life at least twice. But I can also see how he rubs some people the wrong way.
Still, he's a better guy than all the other Anarchs. Jack has his own schemes in mind; Isaac is basically the same old Camarilla-type elder vampire pushing his weight around and leaning on his subordinates, he's just got some fashionably liberal politics so he can pretend he's a man of the people. Skelter is alright, I guess, and Damsel is... well, Damsel.
Of course, that could be because Hollywood is mostly Toreador. The only one I don't really mind is Ash; yeah, he's wallowing in self-pity and all that, but he didn't ask for his shitty vampire existence, he had it forced on him.
That's not even the worst part.
I should reinstall this and play through as something brawny-combat-related. My only playthroughs have been Anarch Toreador (Lots of presence, melee/guns) and Loyal Ventrue (Lots of presence, melee/guns... wait). I was thinking about Tremere or Malkavian, though.

I wasn't even aware that any fluff on Strauss existed outside of the game. What's his backstory?
Toreadors gonna toreador.
There's an LA book. If I remember correctly he's a hermetic acolyte that some "goth chick" nommed on.
Or maybe I'm thinking of another Tremere.
Man takes out a whole pack of Sabbat almost single-handed.
(Granted, Theo saves his hide in the end)
And OP: I will cut you.
Seems like someone into cutting would appreciate a Twilight reference.
Or maybe just Twilight: The Masquerade.
It works now, but if the unofficial patch is going to break it again I'll have to reinstall the whole game and it will take ages on this connection.

That worked for me, just follow the instructions.
I fidgeted with my memory more and got it to run once I set my max RAM to 2 gb, but I shouldn't have to do that. I know that the 6.9 patch that SHOULD fix the memory error is installed because now I've seen the game running on my machine and the changes it makes are there.
Also, even after I get it running this way, the game is stuck running in windowed mode even if I set it to the same res as my monitor (thus cutting off part of the screen if I choose to do so).
Ideas?
I see what you did there.
Seriously though this thread never dies, it just goes into torpor. Well, guess its time to try a Nosferatu, they're the only Clan I haven't done yet.
